We are excited to announce that we have another new tax preparer in our office. Kasi Landon recently passed the Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP) exam.
Congratulations, Kasi! We are proud of you!

The Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP) covers two essential domains critical to tax professionals: Personal Income Taxation and Ethics and Procedures. In the Personal Income Taxation domain, learners will delve into a comprehensive understanding of taxable entities, income reporting, adjustments, deductions, tax credits, and additional taxes. This domain equips candidates with the ability to navigate the complexities of determining taxable income and tax liability accurately. The Ethics and Procedures domain focuses on ethical guidelines and best practices for tax professionals, ensuring candidates are well-versed in their responsibilities and conduct within the taxation profession.

Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
6 bone-in pork chops
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp apple c***r vinegar
2 tbsp ketchup
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp black pepper
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp cold water
Serves: 6 | Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 6 hours
How to Make: Place the sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker and arrange the pork chops on top. In a bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, apple c***r vinegar, ketchup, garlic, onion powder, and black pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the pork chops. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2½–3 hours, until the pork chops are tender and reach at least 145°F (63°C). For a thicker sauce, transfer the chops to a plate and mix the cornstarch with cold water until smooth. Stir it into the sauce and cook on HIGH for 10–15 minutes until thickened. Return the pork chops to the sauce and serve.

Crockpot Creamy Chicken Pasta Recipe
Ingredients
1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
12 oz penne pasta, uncooked
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter
Chopped fresh parsley, optional for garnish
Serves: 6 | Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 4 hours
How to Make: Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the minced garlic, butter, and chicken broth. Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours or HIGH for 1½–2½ hours, until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken and shred or slice it. Stir the heavy cream and Parmesan into the slow cooker. Cook the penne separately according to package directions until al dente, drain, and add it to the sauce along with the chicken. Stir until everything is evenly coated and creamy. Cover for 5–10 minutes to heat through, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.

Slow Cooker Beef Ragu Recipe
Ingredients
2 lb beef chuck roast
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
12–16 oz pasta, optional for serving
Grated Parmesan and fresh parsley, optional for serving
Serves: 6 | Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 8 hours
How to Make: Cut the beef into several large pieces and season with salt and black pepper. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the beef on all sides. Transfer to the slow cooker. Add the onion, garlic, crushed tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until the beef is very tender. Remove the beef, shred it with two forks, and discard any excess fat. Return the shredded beef to the sauce and stir well. Taste and adjust the seasoning. Serve over cooked pasta and finish with Parmesan and parsley if desired.

Crock Pot Mississippi Steak Bites Recipe
Ingredients
2 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-size pieces
1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
½ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
5–6 whole pepperoncini peppers
¼ cup pepperoncini juice
½ tsp black pepper
1 small onion, sliced, optional
Serves: 6 | Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 6 hours
How to Make: Place the steak bites in the slow cooker and add the sliced onion if using. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning, au jus gravy mix, and black pepper evenly over the steak. Arrange the butter pieces and pepperoncini peppers on top, then pour in the pepperoncini juice. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2½–3½ hours, until the steak is tender. Stir everything together before serving so the steak bites are coated in the buttery, savory sauce. Taste before adding any additional salt because the seasoning mixes are already salty. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Crock Pot Cracked Potato Soup Recipe
Ingredients
6 large russet potatoes, peeled and diced
1 medium onion, chopped
4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ranch seasoning mix
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
4 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
2 green onions, sliced, optional for garnish
Serves: 6 | Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 7 hours
How to Make: Add the potatoes, onion, chicken broth, garlic powder, ranch seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the potatoes are very tender. Mash some of the potatoes directly in the slow cooker to create a thicker, creamier texture while leaving plenty of chunks. Stir in the heavy cream and cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add most of the cheddar cheese and bacon, reserving some for topping. Cover and cook for another 10–15 minutes until the cheese has melted and the soup is hot. Serve topped with the remaining cheddar, bacon, and sliced green onions if desired.
