Lately I’ve been thinking about how much Duarte & Co. has grown and more than anything I just feel thankful. ❤️
I think about how I started doing this from my living room. My living room ya’ll.
So if you have been wanting to start your own business and a living room is all you have to start with, please start there. If it’s a little desk in the corner of your bedroom, start there. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to have the perfect office, the perfect logo, or a ton of money behind you.
Just start with what you have.
My living room eventually became a storefront. It’s nothing huge or fancy, but every time I walk into it, I’m reminded that it’s progress and I’m reminded how blessed I am!! progress is something I will never take for granted. ❤️
One of the things I love most about growing is that now I have the opportunity to help someone else learn too.
That’s why mentorship has become so important to me. I don’t want to be the kind of person who learns something and then keeps it all to myself. If something I’ve learned along the way can help another person create an opportunity for themselves or their family, I want to share it.
We’re actually working on putting together a tax preparation class for anyone who has been wanting to learn how to prepare taxes. And who knows maybe from that class we’ll find one or two people who can work alongside Duarte & Co. during tax season, gain experience, build confidence, and eventually even go on to create something of their own.
I truly believe the sun shines for everyone.
Someone else growing doesn’t take anything away from me. If anything, being able to watch someone learn, grow, and eventually stand on their own would make me proud.
No matter where life takes me or where this business goes, I pray I always stay humble enough to remember that I started in my living room.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with starting small.
Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Learn as you go.
And be thankful for every little bit of progress along the way. ❤️
And above everything, keep God first. 🙏🏼 His timing has a way of making things fall into place exactly as they should.
