Since May, our team has been enjoying Summer Lunch Connections! It's a great way to bring team members from across the firm together to explore local restaurants, build new connections, and enjoy time outside the office.

The IRS has issued new guidance on the gift tax treatment of contributions to Trump Accounts, providing important clarification for individuals and families considering this new savings opportunity.

Revenue Procedure 2026-25 establishes a safe harbor for certain contributions, clarifies when the annual gift tax exclusion applies, and outlines when Form 709 reporting may still be required.

Congratulations to Jim Merklin on his election as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the County of Summit ADM Board. Jim will also serve as Chair of the Governance Committee for the 2026–2027 term.

The ADM Board plays a vital role in our community by ensuring access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services for individuals experiencing substance use and mental health disorders. Through a person-centered approach and partnerships across Summit County, the organization helps create pathways to care, support, and long-term recovery.

We’re excited to see Jim take on this important leadership role and contribute to an organization making a meaningful impact in our community. Congratulations, Jim! 👏

A recent federal court decision may create an opportunity for certain taxpayers to seek refunds of penalties and interest assessed during the COVID-19 period. ☀️⚾ We enjoyed a beautiful, sunny afternoon yesterday at the United Way of Summit & Medina's 2026 Report to the Community, hosted at the Akron RubberDucks stadium.

The event highlighted how this incredible organization is helping transform our region by making it easier for people to access the resources they need to build healthy and fulfilling lives. We were inspired by the stories shared and the impact being made across our community.

Thank you to United Way for bringing the community together and for the amazing work you do every day!

It’s such an honor to be recognized as one of the top fundraising companies at this year’s Northeast Ohio Heart Walk! ❤️

This incredible event brought together more than 1,200 participants and raised over $262,000 to support lifesaving research, education, and local impact initiatives through the American Heart Association.

We're especially grateful to Jim Merklin, David Askew, and Kristian Barr for their ongoing support, as well as our team members who helped champion this incredible cause.
