This Mother’s Day, we’re continuing the work of Purses with Purpose—and the response so far has been incredibly meaningful.

What started as a personal effort over the years has now grown into something much bigger, and that is only possible because of the generosity of those who have already stepped forward to support.

I took a real day off this Saturday.

Not halfway working, not answering messages in between — an actual pause. And somewhere between resting and watching a few movies, I found myself reflecting on what it really means to be a woman in business.

Because it’s not just about running a business.

It’s about carrying vision, pressure, responsibility… and still showing up every single day.

I watched Miss Sloane — and it reminded me how important it is to stay sharp.
As women, we don’t always get the luxury of learning slowly or making careless moves. You have to think ahead, read situations, and move with intention. Strategy isn’t optional — it’s survival.

Then Joy.
And this one felt personal.

Because so many women are building while holding everything else together at the same time. Family, expectations, pressure — all while trying to create something of their own.

And what stood out is this:
Sometimes we tolerate more than we should… until we can’t anymore.

That breaking point? It often becomes the moment things finally shift.

Not because it was easy — but because we decided it had to be different.

Then there was Working Girl.

A reminder that while community among women is powerful, discernment is just as important.

Not everyone who looks like you, talks like you, or understands your journey will move with your best interest at heart.

And in business, that lesson can be costly if you learn it too late.

And finally, She Said.

This one wasn’t loud or dramatic — it was steady.

It showed what persistence really looks like.

Following up. Hitting walls. Sitting in uncertainty. Not knowing if the effort will pay off… and continuing anyway.

🚨 Tax Scam Circulating in T&T

If you get an email saying you have a tax refund waiting — don’t rush to click it.

There’s a fake “tax portal” going around right now that looks legit, but it’s designed to collect your personal and even banking information.

Once you enter your details… it’s gone.

⚠️ Simple rule:
If it’s not coming from a .gov.tt source, don’t trust it.

What to do:
✔ Ignore and delete suspicious emails
✔ Go directly to the official IRD site if you want to check anything
✔ Never enter personal or card info on random links

A lot of people get caught because they’re unsure about their taxes in the first place — so the idea of a “refund” feels possible.
