Since the last update we have received sixteen additional tax treaty refunds for teachers who departed in 2025: Bromsgrove 4, ELC International 1, Harrow 1, ISB 2, King's College 1, Bangkok Patana 1, Regent's 1, Rugby School 1, St. Andrew's (Dusit) 1, St. Andrew's (Rayong) 1, St. Andrew's (Soi 71) 1, Singapore International 1. Additionally we have reached agreement with Krung Thai Bank over the remaining 2024 transfers, most of which have been wired to accounts in the respective teachers' home countries.

We will be transferring tax treaty refunds this week for teachers who departed in 2024 comprising: Brighton College (3), Concordian (1), Harrow (2), Head Start (1), Rugby (1), Shrewsbury Riverside (1), Wellington (1), plus on teacher who left King's College this year.

Over the past fortnight we have received a slow but steady trickle of tax treaty refunds for teachers who departed Thailand in 2024, and in one case 2023. The relevant schools are: Ascot, Bangkok Patana, Bromsgrove, Denla, Harrow, Norwich, Rugby, St. Andrew's Soi 107, St. Andrew's Sathorn,and Wellington (two teachers). The problem this year, is not with our claims but with the regular Thai annual tax declarations which people file in the first quarter of the year. As of 2024 regular ex-pat retirees have been obliged to file for the first time ever and this has created a lot more work for the tax department at an already busy time, without any additional staff.

International teachers who are leaving Thailand this summer may expect to receive a comprehensive update, including a list of any outstanding documents we require, on Monday16th.

As the Thai Revenue Department grapples with the Thai residents' 2024 tax declarations, the tax treaty claims are running slower that usual. This past week we saw one claim for a former Rugby International School teacher approved.
