🌏📦 GST-registered suppliers, we've made some changes to the documentary requirements for zero-rating your supplies exported to overseas customers via a Singapore-based postal or courier company:

🔹 Shipment label is now recognised as a valid transport document
🔹 Suppliers must maintain a new transaction document: proof of delivery from the postal or courier company showing the goods have reached the overseas customer, which can be in the form of an online tracking record from the postal/ courier company’s website showing that the goods have been delivered
🔹 The requirement for transport documents to be endorsed has been removed

IRAS has been alerted to a parcel delivery scam seeking GST payment. If you receive a WhatsApp message purportedly from an eCommerce logistics company seeking Goods and Services Tax (GST) to be paid before the release of parcels, do not reply or make any payment.

Scammers attempt to get GST payment from users to facilitate the delivery of their purchased items which is held at the “Singapore border”. The WhatsApp message also shows an image of a fake ‘Certificate of Registration – Goods and Services Tax’ with an IRAS logo.

Members of the public are advised to ignore the scam Whatsapp message. Do not provide any personal, credit card or bank account details, make payments or follow any instructions in the WhatsApp message. Those affected by the scam are advised to lodge police reports.
