Tax Savy has officially attained the Cyber Essentials mark under the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore’s SG Cyber Safe programme.
As a cloud-based tax software provider, we recognise that our customers entrust us with sensitive financial and tax information. Protecting that information must be part of how we build and operate Tax Savy and not just an afterthought.
The certification process required us to review, document and strengthen our cybersecurity practices across areas such as:
• Access controls and account security
• System updates and vulnerability management
• Data backups and recovery
• Monitoring and incident response
• Cybersecurity policies and responsibilities
The Cyber Essentials mark provides independent validation that Tax Savy has established foundational cybersecurity measures to protect our systems and operations against common cyber threats.
A special thank you to Genesis Network, our cybersecurity consultants, for guiding us through the certification process and helping us strengthen our cybersecurity practices.
We would also like to thank GICG, our Cyber Essentials mark auditors, for conducting a thorough and professional assessment.
This is an important milestone, but it is not the end of the journey. Cybersecurity requires continuous review and improvement as Tax Savy grows, our technology evolves and new threats emerge.
To our customers and partners: thank you for trusting us. We will continue working to earn that trust.

Tax Savy is now officially listed on the IRAS website as a ( ) Solution Partner supporting Form C-S integration. 🎉
To most people, it is probably just another page on a government website.
To a small, bootstrapped startup, it is a very meaningful milestone.
I started building Tax Savy because I was tired of seeing tax practitioners spend late nights wrestling with spreadsheets, manual cross-references and repeated data entry during tax peak.
The goal has always been simple: help tax professionals get more done, faster, while keeping professional judgment firmly in their hands.
With our Form C-S integration, users can prepare the tax computation and supporting schedules in Tax Savy, review the Form C-S, and submit it directly to IRAS through the same workflow.
Less re-keying. Fewer opportunities for error. One less portal to wrestle with during tax peak.
We received approval for the integration earlier this month. Seeing Tax Savy now appear on the IRAS website makes the milestone feel a little more real.
Thank you to everyone who helped us reach this point, especially our users who tested the feature and trusted a young Singapore software company with an important part of their tax workflow.
Still early days. Still plenty to build. But today, we are taking a moment to celebrate.

I’m pleased to announce that Tax Savy has made a new hire.
The candidate was originally serving a 9-month notice period with his previous employer.
However, in an unexpected development, he decided to terminate his contract early and join Tax Savy approximately one month ahead of the original start date.
Management was given very little notice, but we have decided to accommodate the early commencement.
We are pleased to confirm that he has now officially joined the team.
Role: Chief Disruption Officer
Department: Founder’s Office
Employment Type: Full-time. Very full-time.
Prior Experience: Nil
Professional Qualifications: Nil
Tax Experience: Nil
Excel Proficiency: Not assessed
Communication Skills: Mostly non-verbal
Salary: Negotiations are ongoing, but management has already agreed to provide unlimited milk, accommodation and benefits.
Like most startups, Tax Savy believes in hiring for potential rather than experience.
Our newest employee currently has:
* Zero years of corporate tax experience
* No knowledge of Singapore tax legislation
* Limited Excel skills
* Questionable communication abilities
* Absolutely no respect for working hours
Despite this, management remains extremely optimistic about his long-term potential.
Please join me in welcoming the newest and youngest member of the Tax Savy team: my son.
His decision to come onboard just before National Day also means there is one more little Singaporean joining this year’s celebrations.
An early arrival, but excellent timing.
Happy National Day, Singapore.
Management is delighted. Productivity may be affected.

We are pleased to share the latest product developments in Tax Savy just launched last night.
1. Version Control
You can now save different versions of your tax computation whenever you export it to PDF.
From the Content page, simply print the tax computation in PDF. Tax Savy will prompt you to save the PDF as either a Draft or Final version.
Unsure whether the current tax computation is the same as the version previously sent to your client?
You can compare the current tax computation against any saved PDF, and Tax Savy will highlight the differences between the two versions.
This provides an additional level of review to help ensure that the tax computation submitted to IRAS is consistent with the version approved by and sent to the client.
2. Adjustment Manager
Tagging tax adjustments to schedules is now much faster with the new Adjustment Manager.
Simply click the “Manage Adjustment” button at the top right-hand corner of the Detailed P&L or breakdown schedule. You can then select multiple lines and tag them to the relevant schedule at the same time.
This reduces the number of clicks required and makes the preparation of tax adjustment schedules more efficient.
3. Updated Main Computation Format
We have updated the Main Computation format to align more closely with the Form C-S requirements.
Tax adjustments are now presented under three distinct sections:
- Tax Adjustments (General) – Positive and negative adjustments are grouped separately.
- Separate-Sourced Income / (Expenses)
- Balancing Charge
The updated format will make it easier for your team to transfer the relevant information and complete Form C-S more efficiently.
4. Validation Prompts
For schedules with validation checks, such as the Full Breakdown, FA Additions and Disposal, Tax Savy will now prompt you when saving if any validation amounts do not match.
These prompts provide an additional checkpoint and help improve the overall accuracy of your tax computation.
These features are now available in Tax Savy.
As always, we welcome your feedback. If you would like a quick walkthrough of the new features and enhancements, we would be happy to arrange a demo.

Thinking about corporate tax software for your firm?
I wrote this article on what Singapore accounting firms and tax teams should consider before choosing a solution — from workflow and rollover to pricing, security, training, and support.

Excel remains a powerful tool for tax computations — especially where flexibility and customisation are needed.
But for growing tax practices, the challenge is not whether Excel works. The challenge is whether too much of the firm’s workflow, prior year knowledge, and review process is sitting inside spreadsheets.
I wrote a short article on where Excel still makes sense, and where it starts to break as tax practices grow.
Read it here:

We are pleased to share the latest product developments in Tax Savy just launched last night.
1. Auto Retrieval of Ex Rate from MAS for non-SGD tax computations
Tax Savy can now automatically retrieve exchange rates directly from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Simply indicate the basis period of the tax computation, whether it is a full year or otherwise, Tax Savy will retrieve and compute the average exchange rate for you.
This works even for start-up companies where the first month of operations is an incomplete month. Tax Savy will retrieve the daily exchange rates for the first month and automatically compute the average rate of the basis period for you.
This removes the need for manual lookups and ensures that foreign currency conversions in tax computations use the official MAS rates.
2.Export Entire Tax Comp to Excel
You requested it. We built it!
You can now export the entire tax computation into Excel with a single click from the Content Page.
Together with the Export to PDF function, you now have the option to review computations, share them with clients, or retain a working file for your records, in either format.
These features are now available in the system.
As always, we welcome your feedback. If you would like a quick walkthrough of the new features and enhancements, we would be happy to arrange a demo.
