We are proud to come together as a firm to support our community through our latest CSR initiative last week! As part of this initiative, we had the opportunity to spend a meaningful afternoon with the elders at St Luke’s ElderCare Senior Care Centre @ Serangoon.

We celebrated birthdays together, enjoyed a fun-filled KTV session, and did some balloon sculpting with the residents. The smiles, laughter and shared moments certainly made the afternoon truly special! 🫶🏻

It was a simple afternoon, but one filled with wonderful moments and memories. We are grateful to everyone who contributed their time and energy to make the day special, and we look forward to more of such opportunities in the future! ❤️

Over the past week, had the opportunity to participate in overseas conferences under the HLB International banner, in Vietnam and China! 🇻🇳 🇨🇳

Over in Vietnam, Partner Raymond Kong was in the HLB Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets Conference 2026 from 12 - 16 August, where he participated as a panellist. Speaking on capital markets and mergers and acquisitions in emerging economies, Raymond highlighted strong growth in Asia-Pacific’s IPO market, and touched on MAS’ initiatives to enhance awareness and liquidity on the Singapore Exchange, alongside the growing trend of Chinese companies pursuing secondary listings in Singapore 📈 He also emphasised the importance of international collaboration and client referrals, noting that access to global expertise can strengthen the market position of HLB member firms.

Separately in China, our Partner Jack Cheong was in Chengdu on 10 August to participate in the 2026 Chengdu Enterprises and Products Overseas Legal Services and Market Opportunities Exchange and Matching Conference (蓉品蓉企出海法务服务和市场机遇交流对接会) as one of five speakers under HLB International. Organised by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Chengdu Law Society, the conference brings together local and overseas professionals, academics, and public officials to discuss and promote Chengdu enterprises and products to "go global” 🌏 The conference analysed cross-border business risks across six core global regions for China enterprises going global.

As part of the National Day Awards 2026, Yin Tong received the Public Service Star for his role as Chairman of Sport Singapore 🌟 Instituted in 1963, the Public Service Star (Bintang Bakti Masyarakat) is awarded to any person who has rendered valuable public service to the people of Singapore; or who has distinguished himself in the field of arts and letters, sports, the sciences, business, the professions and the labour movement.

Meet Gareth, a 4th Year student at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance! Gareth first found out about internships with FKT through his school’s job portal; he’s been interning with us since December last year, and recently completed his internship at the end of June! 🙌

“Before starting my internship, my goal was to gain deep exposure to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) regulations and industry practices. When I first joined, I set a clear objective to familiarise myself with the necessary documentation required for customer onboarding. I definitely managed to achieve this; by the end of the internship, I was actively assisting financial institutions in conducting thorough due diligence for their business relations . I am really proud to have reached a point where I could confidently execute these procedures and advise clients on their anti-money laundering needs!”
