📢 PSW Fee Update – Official Notification Issued

The Government of Pakistan has issued S.R.O. 2227(I)/2025 on 24 November 2025 with revised fee slabs under Pakistan Single Window (PSW).

Key Points:
• PSW Subscription / Updates / Renewals: Rs. 500
• SECP Verification Fee: Rs. 500

Goods Declaration (as per value of goods):
• Up to Rs. 50,000 – Nil
• Rs. 50,001 – 100,000 – Rs. 500
• Rs. 100,001 – 1,000,000 – Rs. 750
• Rs. 1,000,001 – 5,000,000 – Rs. 1,000
• Rs. 5,000,001 – 10,000,000 – Rs. 1,250
• Rs. 10,000,001 – 25,000,000 – Rs. 1,500
• Rs. 25,000,001 and above – Rs. 2,000

This notification supersedes the previous fee structure.

Understanding Section 154A — Export of Services

Businesses providing services to international clients must ensure their tax treatment is correct under Section 154A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The law creates a clear distinction between:
• IT Services registered with PSEB — taxed at 0.25%
• IT Services not registered with PSEB — taxed at 1%
• Other exported services — taxed at 1%

The following are the most frequently issued notices by the Federal Board of Revenue to .

Section 176: Request for information, such as bank statements.

Section 111: Unexplained income or assets.
Section 114(4): Non-filing of an income tax return.

Section 182: Penalty notice for failure to file an income tax return.

Section 122(9): Show-cause notice issued by an Additional, Deputy, or Assistant Commissioner.

Section 122(1): Assessment order issued by a Deputy or Assistant Commissioner.

Section 122(5A): Assessment order issued by an Additional Commissioner.

Section 137(2): Demand notice issued along with an assessment order under Section 122(1).

Section 138: Recovery notice requiring payment of the demanded income tax within the specified deadline.

The court has ordered the tax authorities to explain why they delayed releasing the tax forms, which cut the filing time short by 49 days. They also caused an 8-day system glitch by adding a new "market value" column. The govt has 7 days to submit its report.
