Still a 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫?
You may be paying 𝐃𝐎𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐭𝐚𝐱 without even realizing it.

In Pakistan, non-filers are subject to significantly higher withholding tax rates on:
• Banking transactions
• Property purchase & sale
• Vehicle registration & transfer
• Cash withdrawals
• Prize bonds & profit on savings
• Imports and business transactions

This means every major financial move costs you more.

Becoming a filer is not expensive.
But staying a non-filer is financially draining.

Beyond tax savings, being an 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 gives you:
✔ Financial credibility
✔ Better chances of visa approvals
✔ Smoother property transactions
✔ Reduced scrutiny in financial matters
✔ Peace of mind

Smart individuals and businesses don’t wait for penalties or notices — they stay compliant.

If you haven’t filed your return yet, now is the right time.

Become a filer. Save money legally.

What Happens If You Miss Corporate Tax Registration in the UAE?
Missing your Corporate Tax registration deadline is not a small issue.

Here’s what can happen:
• AED 10,000 administrative penalty
• Additional fines for continued non-compliance
• Delays in obtaining your Tax Registration Number (TRN)
• Increased scrutiny from the FTA

Corporate Tax compliance is mandatory for most UAE businesses — even if your taxable income is below the 9% threshold.

Registering on time protects your business from unnecessary penalties and reputational risk.

If you are unsure about your registration status, it’s better to review it now than face penalties later.

Despite years of VAT implementation in the UAE, many businesses still face penalties due to basic compliance errors.

Here are the most common issues we observe:
1. 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐕𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠
Missing mandatory details such as TRN, invoice date, or proper VAT breakdown.

2. 𝐄𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐀𝐓 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
Mismatch between accounting records and VAT return submissions.

3. 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐕𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
Failing to charge VAT where applicable or misclassifying zero-rated and exempt supplies.

4. 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠
Failure to maintain supporting documents as required by the FTA.

5. 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬
Late submissions result in avoidable administrative penalties.

VAT compliance is not just about filing — it requires proper system controls, technical understanding, and periodic review.

Businesses that treat VAT as a routine task often expose themselves to financial risk.

If your VAT process has not been reviewed recently, it may be time to reassess.

Many business owners think:

👉 Profit in financial statements = Tax payable

This is NOT correct.

Under UAE Corporate Tax Law:

🔹 Accounting Profit
Profit shown in your financial statements prepared under IFRS.

🔹 Taxable Income
Accounting profit adjusted as per UAE Corporate Tax rules.

Why is it different?
Because certain items are:
• Non-deductible expenses (e.g., fines & penalties)
• Partially deductible expenses
• Exempt income
• Related party adjustments
• Transfer pricing adjustments

📌 Corporate Tax (9%) is calculated on Taxable Income, not accounting profit.

If your adjustments are wrong, your tax will be wrong.

Compliance is not bookkeeping — it is technical.

According to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and Ministry of Finance:

The UAE will implement a mandatory e-Invoicing system under a structured electronic format.

📌 Key Points:

• Phase 1 begins 1 July 2026
• Applies to VAT-registered businesses
• PDF/scanned invoices will NOT qualify
• Invoices must be issued through Accredited Service Providers (ASP)
• Structured data transmission under OpenPeppol framework

This is a major shift in compliance and system integration.
Businesses should start preparing now.
