- The KSE-100 index rose 2,094.76 points, closing at 78,801.53.
- This was the fourth largest single-day increase in KSE-100 history.

PSX Falls Below 75,000 amid Anticipated Fiscal Measures in Upcoming Budget

- Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Wednesday.
- The benchmark KSE-100 index plunged below the 75,000 mark.
- The market opened positively but soon turned negative.
- The index settled at 74,836.30, down 681.19 points or 0.90% from the previous close.
- Selling pressure was attributed to anticipated fiscal measures in the 2024-25 budget.

Govt sells Rs38.84bln worth of PIBs 20/08/2020

The cut-off yield for three-year PIBs stood at 8.2000 percent at which the government borrowed Rs16.6 billion.

Through the five-year bonds, the government raised Rs187 billion at the cut-off yield of 8.4500 percent.

Meanwhile, an amount of Rs55 billion was fetched for 10 years PIBs at a yield of 8.9900 percent.
