SPFI offers financial assistance of those willing to take risk to start business and opportunity to alleviate their livings. 𝗦𝗣𝗙𝗜'𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗦. 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗼

Reflecting on today’s Gospel, Fr. Richard highlighted Jesus’ call to become like children—humble, trusting, and open to love. He reminded us of how children can easily forgive and love without holding on to one another’s imperfections.

He also reminded us that we sometimes forget to depend on God. We can become too focused on our own plans and forget that God’s plans are greater than ours. In moments of uncertainty, we are called to trust Him and remain faithful.

At the heart of the reflection was a simple reminder: God created us through love, and we were loved first by Him. May we, in turn, become instruments of that love by understanding others, embracing their imperfections, forgiving, and showing genuine goodness.

Thank you, Rev. Fr. Richard, for the meaningful reflection and for reminding us to return to a humble, trusting, and loving heart.

With gratitude to the Lord, the 11th batch of students under the SPFI International Education Program has safely arrived in Taiwan to pursue Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) at Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST).

Through the SPFI International Education Program of Spes Pauperum Foundation – SPFI Microfinance NGO, Inc. of the Diocese of Tagum, children of qualified SPFI client-members are given opportunities to pursue higher education in Taiwan.

To Batch 11, may this opportunity bring you closer to your goals. Continue learning, keep moving forward, and make every opportunity count.

Spes Pauperum Foundation- SPFI Microfinance NGO, Inc. conducted a fire drill and fire safety lecture to equip employees with the knowledge and proper response measures needed during fire emergencies.

The activity provided the SPFI family with practical knowledge on fire prevention, emergency procedures, evacuation, and the proper use of fire safety equipment—important skills that contribute to a safer working environment for employees and the clients they serve.

SPFI extends its appreciation to FO2 Rhey S. Junio, FO1 Juley B. Niemes, and FO1 Ricar Limark B. Estaca for sharing their expertise and guiding the employees throughout the lecture and drill.

As SPFI carries out its work each day, ensuring the safety and preparedness of its people remains an important part of maintaining a secure and responsible workplace.

𝗦𝗣𝗙𝗜 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗬 𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗦

“Can a blind person guide a blind person?”

In last Friday’s Gospel, Jesus uses this image to teach His disciples about the importance of seeing clearly—not only when looking at others, but especially when looking at ourselves. He then speaks of the splinter in another person’s eye and the wooden beam in our own, reminding us to address our own shortcomings first before attempting to correct another.

The message was at the heart of the Healing Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Hernan Reyes at SPFI last Friday.

Correction is a responsibility, but it must be rooted in love. Its purpose is to help another person see the truth and grow, not to expose their sins or make them feel condemned. Without humility and the right intention, what appears to be correction can easily become judgment.

The same Gospel points us toward the need for healing within ourselves.

We cannot give what we do not have. We cannot become instruments of healing if we do not first allow Christ to heal our own wounds. We cannot share His love with others if we have not allowed Him to transform our own hearts.

And healing also asks us to forgive. We will encounter moments when we are misunderstood, misjudged, or hurt, but we are called not to remain prisoners of resentment. Forgiveness is part of the freedom Christ desires for us.

Last Friday’s Healing Mass reminded us that the journey toward healing begins not with pointing out what is wrong in others, but with the humility to let God show us what needs to be healed in ourselves.

May we correct with love, seek truth with humility, and forgive with mercy.

𝗦𝗣𝗙𝗜 𝗚𝗢𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲

In celebration of the Season of Creation, the Spes Pauperum Foundation, Inc. (SPFI) carried out a tree planting activity today at the Hermitage in Pantukan, Davao de Oro, as part of its continuing SPFI Go Green Program.

The activity was led by Rev. Fr. Raymund D. Bagohin, Executive Director, who joined SPFI employees and clients in planting pine trees and taking part in a shared effort to care for the environment.

The Season of Creation reminds us that the care of our common home is a responsibility we share. It calls us not only to appreciate the beauty of Creation, but also to protect, nurture, and sustain it through actions within our reach.

At the Hermitage today, each seedling found its place in the soil—small beginnings that carry the possibility of growth in the years ahead.

Every tree planted today is an act of care for our common home and a gift to the generations yet to come.

As they take the next step toward their international education journey, new experiences, challenges, and opportunities await.
