BREAKING | Start now, permits later: SEC pushes One Business Start Date

Starting a business in the Philippines could soon come with a lot less waiting.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is pushing a One Business Start Date that would allow companies to begin operating once they secure their SEC registration or primary regulatory license, even as they work on other government permits.

SEC chair Francis Lim said the measure is part of a wider push to remove structural barriers that slow businesses and make it harder for companies to tap the capital market.
