PH now out of recession as GDP grew by 11.8%

Philippine GDP grew by 11.8% YoY for 202021 versus the market estimate of 10.9% YoY. This was the highest YoY growth since fourth quarter of 1988, which recorded at 12% YoY expansion.

The growth was mainly driven by low base effects as the country suffered one of its worse contraction last year for the same period (-16.9%). The industries that were the main drivers or growth were the following.
