DESSERTS
My husband has this crazy craving for sweets. He is strict when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. This is a paradox.
He tells me to sleep early but I see him awake late at night. When we do a Kdrama Marathon, we eat sweets while watching. He nags me if I stay late watching while I allow him to do some Forex thingy.
He nags me to run but he doesn't wake me up. He runs alone while I am stuck in bed nursing our 26month old son.
He gets mad at me when I allow my kids some soda but he loves cheesecakes. He does not stop asking until I get it done. Blueberry has been on top. I tried oreo and mango once. (If you have other cheesecake recipes, please let me know. I would love to try it too.) π₯§
He asks me to prepare some white coffee but won't take it until it becomes cold.
We are on intermittent fasting but tells me to eat earlier. π€¦He cheats on me telling that women can fast shorter times than men. π€£
He tells me to loose more weight but he brings home ice cream π¨.
This is the irony of life. π€£
Desserts. It makes our life sweet. It makes life more fun. It allows us to enjoy.
This thing allowed me to create sweets for my family more than usual. It forced me to become creative and proved that I can do things if I commit to achieving it.
PS.
I don't have baking pans or tray. π€£ I was able to make leche flan.
I disposed off my springform because it got corroded, and yet I was able to make blueberry and mango cheesecake.
I no longer have a whisk. Neither a hand mixer nor a stand mixer. All I ever had was my arms and a fork. πͺπ»
What kind of desserts have you prepared during this quarantine period? I'd like to know too.

So I was wasting some of my time trying to make a write up. I rarely go out alone uninterrupted. This is my free time all for myself before my client meeting.
The glass bottle on the left costs Php 195. The disposable one is Php 180. Both contained my favourite coffee only when I am out. The left was cold and the right one was extra hot. I barely visit coffee shops, because I want my coffee dark and black, and it should be very hot. Aside from the fact that served coffee becomes expensive, I miss the aroma in coffee shops.
Why do I stay here when I am alone? I find solitude while I indulge. I get to witness people from different walks of life. They come in then leave. Others stay longer than I did. Others would just pass by. It is like how people come and go in our lives.
I realized, I could have gone somewhere and spent my money to something that has worth. But! Coffee is life! Hey!
I don't go and visit the Salon for that monthly fix. I visit once a year, or less.
I don't get nail polish.
I don't visit my DERMA regularly. Only when I have irritations that can't be fixed by my home solutions.
I don't have my gym membership anymore. No trips mean savings on fuel.
I don't buy new clothes, except when it is being mandated by an occasion or event.
I don't have a collection of shoes. I have only what I need.
I don't buy designer bags anymore. But I do have diaper bags. Which if I sum it up, costs a new LV or 2, depends on What bag.
I run, and I only have a pair of running shoes and one shorts. My husband has more. ππ
I can commute alone, but not when I have my son with me.
I don't have a selection of make-up. I only have What I need. One of each. The only exception is, I have 3 lipsticks. One is very dark, one is red, one is pink. My husband doesn't want me to wear any. So I only get to wear when I'm alone. If he dropped me off, I won't have any until I get home.
I started my journey with a minimalistic way of living, to only have what matters and what will allow me to be successful.
So Saan napunta Ang usapan tungkol sa kape?
Okay lang uminom ng Mahal na kape, basta hindi masisira ang budget mo. Gaya ng Milk Tea. π kung gusto mo naman, Pwede mo bawas bawasan ng frequency. Kung dati 2-3x a week, why not once a week? Yun masesave mo, ipunin mo.
We can start a mutual fund account for you. Or I can help you save up to set aside your emergency fund. Or help you start that insurance plan. Everything starts small. You just have to start. It doesn't matter how small. What matters is you did.

I beg to disagree.
Itinuro sa amin ito.
Kaya nga when we took out our first loan, I did my own computation via excel para sa monthly due namin. And when I compared it sa ibinigay samin, tamang Tama. I used annuity. Straight line declining balanced method. And it is still true today.
Pati BIR filing. First 3 years ko as a freelance, I filed my own. After that, saka nalang ako nagpa assist sa accountant.
Nagamit ko din ang TVM (time value of money). Actually, I knew it even before I was designated as an FChFP, and CWP. Kaya siguro sisiw sakin Ang licensing for CIS. NOT to brag ha.
Itinuro din sa atin Ang simple interest. Principle x interest rate = interest.
Kapag Yun ang tanong, I leave it blank. Unless May choice, so huhula nalang ako. Ewan ko ba. PUMASA naman ako. Hahaha. Hindi ko siya maimagine at Mapicture sa utak ko. Pero wag ka! Naging Engr. Ako sa Plating, na kung saan Ang main principle Ay ELECTROLYSIS. hahaha. And you know what, simple Lang siya!
For me, Math, in general is the basic and foundation of everything in this world. Simple.
Minsan NASA grocery kame. I was surprised my son bought 16pcs of chocolate bars. I asked him why. Sabi niya, sa school, 10 isa. Dito 6 lang. Sabi ko magbenta ka. Income opportunity for him di ba?
Parang Insurance lang yan eh. Itinuturo naming mga FAs sa inyo, Pero madalas, deadma kayo at sinasabi niyong you dont need it. Pero Ang totoo, everybody needs insurance. Hindi Lang kayo bilib. Pasensya na ha. Marami sa inyo na approach ko. Yun iba, never na seen Ang message ko. Meron ngang nadeads na pala. Eh di sana May cheke ang pamilya mo. Ang insurance, most of the time, para sa iyo at sa pamilya mo. NOT on me.
nabaSA mo?
PM lang friend.
Gusto mo maging FA gaya ko? PM ulit. :)
Help kita, para sa into at sa pamilya mo. π

Ginisang Pusit
Apart from the ingredients for the Sinigang sa Miso, I also bought some Squid. That squid costed me just 140.
Prepared to cook it, and 2 of my boys were very happy.
The rest of the ingredients were leftovers from the sinigang. You eat out, this May be 3-4 servings. This will likely cost times 4, or maybe 5.
Why do I post this? My happy place at home is the kitchen. I have boys who are very active and are always hungry. They always big me about food. To cook this and that. I ask them everytime what do they like. So I let them indulge.
They are boys. I know in a few years, maybe 15-20years from now, they would be settling on their own. Our home will always be open for them to come home to my cooking, including their families. ππππππ They will always be my baby.
Don't you feel happy cooking for family too? I am always excited to see them munch and enjoy. One thing that makes me proud, is saving more than dining out.

Sinigang sa Miso na Ulo ng Salmon
I came home from a 5D5N travel and I truly missed home. My boys were left alone with my husband and I know, he can't cook the way I do. Ehemmm. Part of what I miss about home is Pinoy food and that sinigang. Sinigang is my favourite. The sour soup from fresh tamarind, or fresh kamias, kalamansi, or ripe guava, that sour taste that makes you want to dip it in some fish sauce with chili. Isang kanin pa nga po! As I write this, my mouth is watering like crazy already. πππ
I don't like pork that much so I made up my mind about wanting to eat fish and veggies. I sent off my husband to the nearest bus terminal as he is bound for China. That was the opportunity. I dropped by to the nearest Public Market to buy something for the family. I don't like going to this specific market because prices of goods here are relatively higher. Something we all can't do anything about.
I arrived home later excited for some cooking sessions.
I bought the following:
2 pieces Salmon head - Php 160
Miso - Php 10
Sibuyas, bawang, kamatis, luya - Php 50
Mustasa - 10
Okra - 10
Radish - 15
String beans - 10
Siling pansigang - free
The pang-asim is already available at home, so I didn't bother. It may cost around 20-25.
You may be confused why all the veggies. Simply, aside from the variety, I have a kid who just want the beans, one kid who likes just okra, and another just the radish. I have one who tastes all then spits it out. Hahaha.
I find cooking our own meals to be cost-efficient aside from my personal contentment seeing my kids eat a healthy and hearty meal.
If we would dine out, it would have cost more, and probably there Will be no extras for my breakfast. A cup of rice in a restaurant costs around 30, in a cafeteria it may cost around 10 pesos. At home, it is free, or maybe a kilo would just be 50. We have more left for fried rice in the morning. :)

Why LIFE INSURANCE is NOT a cool product?
1. You cannot wear it on your wrist and say, it's Swiss made.
2. You cannot drive around town and say, it's German technology.
3. You cannot wear it on your arm and say, it's Italian leather.
π£But WHEN THE TIME OF CRISIS COMES, the people in your life who matter the most - your spouse, your children, and your parents - will be the one to brag about how RESPONSIBLE you were; about how you PREPARED for their future.
Insure your life today.π
