𝘕𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘢?
𝘈𝘬𝘰 𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘢 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘢 𝘬𝘰, 𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢. 😂

Trying to make fun of it but in reality, do you sometimes feel offended when a person tells you that you think and/or act like a child?

I do. 𝘔𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘬𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘬𝘰. I think it's because I always feel that I am mature enough, in how I talk, act and make decisions. However, I realized that maturity isn't always a good thing. Like in most cases, too much of something isn't always a good thing. Thinking that you are more matured than most gives you a sense of entitlement that your decisions and actions are always right and that their decisions and actions are wrong. It will also make you accept more responsibilities than you can carry, and this will eventually leave you mentally and emotionally drained.

If I remember it right, it was the last week of November 2020, I fell asleep sitting in front of my laptop. I was so exhausted, that I can no longer move my legs to walk and lay down properly to take some rest.

A few minutes later, I felt a hand on my shoulder, it rested there while I heard a voice tell me "𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘩, 𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘪 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘰 𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘢. 𝘐𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘥, 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘱𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢. 𝘒𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘢, 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘯. 𝘐𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘵-𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘵 𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘵𝘢𝘯, 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘬 𝘱𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯."

It was not loud, almost a whisper, but it was clear. Clear enough that in a few seconds of that particular moment, I tried to open my eyes as quickly as possible to see where the voice came from. I saw a guy standing beside me, hand on my shoulder, then I felt a tap, and in a blink of an eye, he was gone.

Seconds after, I heard a distracting noise as the computer mouse slipped off my hand and fell on the floor. I felt my heart beat faster when I woke up and saw that I was alone.

The night after, I offered an intentional prayer that goes like this, 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥, 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴, 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 e𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵. Because I believe that in our situation like ours today, we need that reminder. We need that voice. 𝘏𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘬𝘰, 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺𝘢 𝘬𝘰, 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘰. 𝘒𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪 𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘸, 𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘢 𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘰. I wish to tap you too. I wish and hope that you never lose the kid in you. That kid who knows how to rest when they are tired, cry when they are hurt and recover like nothing happened.

Monday, 18 January 2021, past half of a month of a brand new year, and yes, I have a story to tell.

Have you ever experienced asking for a last chance? What were your thoughts, realizations, and expectations?

A while ago, I asked for that last chance, I asked believing that I am that kind of person who can commit into something big, with people who are very dedicated, determined and consistent, and that I am in a good position in asking for that chance.

But at the last minute, I read again the message that I received from one of the persons I asked for that last chance. I realized that the person is right, integrity is everything, trust and respect may be gone at that very second that we lose our integrity just because we are trying to fit too many responsibilities on a plate that is already full. I realized that yes, asking for a last chance is okay, but ask yourself first, is asking for a "last chance" from other people really what you needed? Or is it time to give yourself a chance to reflect?

Because, maybe, what you really need is acceptance and acknowledgement that you are not yet ready to commit again to something that big.

Mine ended up painful, but grateful as well. The vulnerability of accepting the fact that you are not deserving of that last chance yet, made me more whole beyond imaginable.

This is one of the lessons my community, the Passionate Creators, have taught me. It's okay to pursue your passion and purpose, but you have to also know when to rest so you can be more productive, creative and persuasive.

Taking the risk or playing safe?

Any the path we take can hurt us. But that’s the point of living. We don’t aim to have no problems or pain. We aim to be in the path that makes all the hardships and pain worth it!

This quote came from the most selfless person I know. Her goal is to lift others even at the expense of herself. She gives so much to the people she loves, even if she feels tired or frustrated. But her happiness is serving others. To her, the happiness and growth of the people around her makes all the hardship and pain worth it.

Sabi nila, pagwalang wala ka ng makitang sagot sa mga tao, open the Bible and you will find an answer to the question you did not ask but you should have.

Almost a year ago, I was in a situation where I found myself doing literally nothing. No work, no hustle, useless, and worthless.

My thoughts were cluttered and with a heavy heart, I took out my Bible and said, "Sige nga anong sasabihin mo sa akin”

JAMES 1:2-3
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Hala pure joy daw, wow, why? I mean, how can a person experiencing so many trials can consider something of pure joy?

I never found the answer until 2020 arrived. I realize now, I will never find an answer because I never asked the right question. I never prayed for what my heart really needed.

January 6, 2020, a day after our family reunion, I looked back at my journal and revisited the Bible verse I read months before and you know what? I found myself smiling because I finally understood what it was telling me. Though I didn't feel at the time that it was pure joy, I just knew, I understood Him already.

February 11, I was coded as a Licensed Insurance Agent, more than blessed, I became part of a team where everyone is born to be an achiever, with generous leaders and a strong support system, plus, kasama ko pa sa team ang best friend ko.

March 20, an online community group was born, and again, more than a blessing I deserved, I found another family that activated my passion and my purpose. A community where no one will be left behind because everyone is lifting each other up. A community where strangers became trusted friends.

Today, I'm taking up a certification course to be a Certified Wealth Planner, I'm also attending club invites to improve my public speaking, interpersonal communication, strategic leadership, and of course, to regain self-confidence.

Now ask me, am I feeling the chills of having pure joy already?

My answer is, YES.

So, guys, can you do me a favor? Can you read the verse again?

But this time, read it louder. 😊
