Proposal's Projected Fund Value (2018) vs. Current Fund Value (2022)
This client started her Sun Maxilink Prime (VUL) in October 2018 at age 30. For the benefit of those who doesn't know, VUL is INSURANCE + investment. Primary goal pa rin talaga ng policy na ito ay mainsure si client sa mga SAD (sickness,accident,death) events. So si client ay may life insurance na 1M (200% ng face amount), accidental death benefit 500K, critical illness and total disability benefits. Sa life insurance pa lang, panalo na si client (or should I say - ang mga beneficiaries nya 😂)
Dahil VUL nga ito, small part sa binabayaran ni client quarterly ay napupunta sa investment. At that time, ang projected fund value nya by the end of 3rd year is around 49K at 8% interest rate. Dun lang tayo sa gitna para wala masyadong expectations, baka masaktan lang tayo pag todong todo magexpect (alam na alam mo yan 🤪 ).
Yung market kasi very volatile so depende talaga sa status ng market, pwedeng lower than 8% or more than that ang kitain ng investment.
Fast forward to March 2022, by this time 3 years and 5 months na yung policy ni client. By this time, nasa 58K na yung current fund value nya. Dahil ndi naman tayo nagexpect masyado, tsaka tinamaan pa ng pandemic for 2 years. Nakakahappy lang sa pakiramdam na makitang more than 8% yung nilago ng pera nya. Ndi na masama diba?
Yung sa investment portion, I'd like to think of it na nagtatabi ka ng pera pero instead na sa banko dun sa mo itatabi sa isang financial institution na makakapagbigay ng mas malaking interest. That way, you make your money work for you. Ang kagandahan ng VUL, it hits 2 birds with one stone. Insured ka na, may investments ka pa. 😉
