Starting the week with some good news for businesses and consumers. ⚡️

The BIR has issued RMC No. 97-2026, removing VAT on the allowable system loss charge on electricity bills.

What does this mean for businesses?

Once effective, VAT will no longer be imposed on the allowable system loss portion of covered electricity billings. This may result in lower electricity costs for businesses and consumers.

A small change on the bill, but potentially meaningful savings for businesses with significant power consumption.
