Then he shared his story.

That conversation stayed with me.

Imagine, an ordinary employee noong 1982, making a decision that may have seemed small at that time, but decades later, that same decision was giving him something to rely on during his retirement.

Then this year, I received a call, pagsagot ko ng cellphone, isang malakas na iyak agad ang narinig ko.

And then I heard: "𝑊𝑎𝑙𝑎 𝑛𝑎 𝑝𝑜 𝑠𝑖 𝑇𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑦…”

I froze. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko.

Halos hindi ako nakapagsalita. Biglang nag-flashback sa akin ang meeting namin ni Tatay.

He passed away at the age of 80 due to acute respiratory failure. And I choose to remember him not simply by how he passed, but by how he prepared for the future.

He prepared, He provided, He protected.

This experience reminded me once again why I chose this profession.

Sometimes, people think our job is simply about offering insurance. But behind every policy is a person. Behind every premium is a sacrifice. Behind every beneficiary is a family. And behind every claim or payout is a story.
