JUST IN: The Bureau of Internal Revenue has officially lifted its ban on new audits, including new issuances of Letters of Authority (LOAs) effective today, 27 January.

The ban was previously imposed in late November last year in response to alleged misconduct by the BIR, with LOAs supposedly used as a tool for a Bureau-wide extortion scheme. | Toby Magsaysay
