Good news for payroll: the BIR raised several non-taxable de minimis benefit ceilings under RR No. 29-2025 β for example, monetized unused vacation leave for private employees went from 10 to 12 days.
Worth checking if your benefits policy reflects the new limits.

VAT registration isn't optional once you cross β±3,000,000 in gross sales β and it's a rolling 12-month total, not a calendar-year cutoff. Most businesses find out they've crossed it after the fact, usually while reviewing the year's numbers, not in the moment it actually happened.

Since 2024, the Invoice β not the OR β is your primary proof of sale under the EOPT Act. The OR now mainly backs up proof of payment.

π Heads up: BIR Form 1702Q (Corporate Quarterly ITR for AprβJun) is normally due Aug 29 β but that's a Saturday, and Aug 31 (Monday) is National Heroes Day. Between the two, the deadline moves to Tuesday, Sept 1.
