An open letter to the future me.
Dear Future Me,
I’m writing this to remind you of something that once felt far away, but is now very real: the importance of saving—especially for retirement and for future medical needs. I hope life has been full, meaningful, and calm in ways that only preparation can bring. If it is, then the habits started earlier played a big role. Saving was about giving you choices. Those choices focus on what truly matters rather than worrying about money. Retirement savings were never just about stopping work. They were about freedom—the freedom to live on your own terms, to pursue hobbies, to spend time with loved ones, and to say “no” when you needed to. Every contribution, no matter how small it felt at the time, was a step toward independence and dignity. Learn from the mistakes of others especially in the Philippines, where the SSS pension plan is never enough. You have been a part of the sandwich* generation; don't let it happen to your children. Medical savings mattered just as much. Health is unpredictable, and even with insurance, medical costs can arrive suddenly. Planning ahead meant peace of mind. It meant being able to focus on healing instead of bills, on care instead of stress, in choosing the ideal treatment instead of compromise due to budgetary constraints. Those savings were acts of kindness from your past self to you. If times are comfortable now, remember to be grateful for the discipline it took to prepare. If things are challenging, remember that saving was never about deprivation—it was about effort and responsibility. Either way, know that the intention was always to protect you. Take care of yourself. Spend wisely, live fully, and remember that every choice you made earlier was an investment in this moment. With hope and foresight,
Your Past Self importance
*a generation where you take care of your own family and your extended family.

The biggest danger of the status quo is the illusion that it will protect you. A steady paycheck feels secure—until the company downsizes, the economy shifts, or technology automates your role. In 2025, job security is no longer guaranteed. Entire industries can change overnight, leaving loyal employees scrambling to adapt.
Relying solely on one income stream is like balancing your entire life on a single leg. The moment that leg weakens, everything else collapses.
Sticking to the status quo often leads to stagnation. You stop learning, stop exploring, and eventually stop growing. Over time, this quiet complacency becomes a trap. The longer you stay still, the harder it becomes to pivot when change inevitably comes.
The status quo whispers, “Stay safe.” But safety is often the most dangerous place to be. The world rewards those willing to adapt, learn, and take calculated risks. Your side hustle doesn’t have to be glamorous or revolutionary—it just has to start.
So ask yourself: if your main source of income disappeared tomorrow, how ready would you be?
Don’t wait for a crisis to be your teacher. Start building your backup plan today. Because in a world that changes this fast, standing still is the most hazardous move of all.
If you're open to a potential side hustle or even a career change, please DM me to know more about the possibilities in store for you.

A Life-Changing Safety Net:
How Critical Illness Insurance Spared a Client from Financial Ruin. Our client, which started as a smart financial decision just under two years ago turned into a lifeline when the unthinkable happened—she had a stroke, which would have financially devastated most families.
Thanks to a well-timed critical illness insurance policy, this client not only weathered the storm but also emerged without the added burden of financial distress.
Like many people, this client purchased a retirement savings plan with a critical illness rider as a precaution, not expecting to ever use it. The policy had only been in force for barely two years. But as life would have it, uncertainty struck sooner than expected.
A serious medical diagnosis came seemingly out of nowhere. It wasn’t just a health scare—it was life-altering. The treatment was expensive, and out-of-pocket costs were stacking up fast. Fortunately, that policy—which had quietly existed in the background—was there when it mattered.
The client submitted a claim under their critical illness insurance rider and, after a thorough claims process, received a lump-sum payout. This money wasn't tied to hospital bills or specific medical costs; it was flexible—able to be used for anything from hospitalization expenses, rehab, post-admission medication, even to household bills. That claim made it possible. she can now focus entirely on recovery without the paralyzing stress of money worries.
Initially, there was a need to dip into savings, or lean on loved ones for financial support. With this claim, all expenses were reimbursed and paid.
In a Time of Crisis instead of facing a dual battle—one for health and one for financial survival—the patient could channel their energy toward healing. The critical illness payout allowed them to maintain their quality of life, pay for specialized care, and keep their household running without interruption.
This case is a powerful reminder that critical illness insurance isn’t just a policy—it’s a plan. In this client’s case, it was the difference between financial disaster and stability. While no one wants to imagine facing a serious illness, the reality is that it can happen at any age and often without warning. Preparing in advance—even with a relatively new policy—can be one of the wisest financial decisions a person can make. Insurance may often feel like a distant “what if,” but this story proves just how real and immediate its impact can be. For this client, a decision made just two years earlier turned out to be nothing short of life-changing. And it all began with a single choice, to be prepared for the unexpected.
Shout out to Ed Latonio our branch manager who was also instrumental in this claims process.
A friend of mine once told me that he is not interested in purchasing critical illness insurance. I asked myself, is getting a severe illness a remote possibility or a disaster waiting to happen?
What are the facts?
1. Common illnesses like colds, flu, and mild infections are just part of life. Getting sick is a natural part of being human. It's not a catastrophe by default, but it can become one if you are unprepared, unaware, or unlucky.
2. If you're relatively healthy and take care of yourself, getting sick may feel like a remote possibility, but it's never off the table. A strong immune system and healthy habits reduce the risk, but they don't eliminate it.
3. If you ignore health risks and have an underlying condition, then YES, getting seriously sick might be a disaster waiting to happen. Poor diet, chronic stress, lack of sleep, substance use, and ignoring symptoms can set the stage for a major health event.
chronic/severe illnesses like Hypertension, Diabetes, Cancer, stroke, and heart attack can be life-altering, but many are manageable by early detection and proper treatment.
So, going back to the question, is getting a severe illness a remote possibility or a disaster waiting to happen?
It's more like a statistical certainty.
Now it becomes an economic decision.
Everyone gets sick at some point. The real question is how often, how severely, and how prepared you are for it financially.

Attending an insurance convention might sound like a strictly professional affair, filled with breakout sessions and keynote addresses. But for those who know how to balance business with a bit of leisure, these events offer more than just the chance to sharpen your industry acumen—they’re also an opportunity to explore new places, recharge, and return home both inspired and refreshed.
