BSP will continue to keep the accommodative stance on interest (lower interest rates), but until when as inflation already breached 4% level
Bank stock are good for long-term investment goal because price-to-book ratio are low right now and banks will benefit more on a recovering economy. Bank borrowings will start to grow and loan collection should improve.
In the picture, as of 28May2021, PH is the laggard among regional peers in terms of stock market performance for YTD 30Apr2021.

Interest Rate to remain unchanged, easing monetary policy unlikely, citing average inflation for the first quarter is at 3.8% , which is at a higher bracket of the target of two-four percent.

Relevance to investors : Lower interest rates drives stock prices higher.

175 basis points was raised by the BSP in year 2018 to control inflation which peaked at 6.7% in September and October 2018.

BSP also sees no need to expand money supply (monetary easing) as measured by M3. Although M3 increased at a slower pace in 2018 at 9% however, M3-to-GDP ratio is at 67%, compared to 60% M3-to-GDP ratio (lower) in year 2013 where M3 increased at a faster pace which is 32%.

M3 (Money supply) includes items in M1 and M2, plus (1) Large Deposits, (2) Institution Money Market Funds, (3) Other Large Liquid Assets. M2 comprise items in M1 plus (4) Savings Account, (5) Money Market Funds, (6) Time Deposits not more than P5M. M1 comprises (7) Cash in circulation & (8) Demand Deposits.

Allow me to share to you Economic news and market updates from AXA Philippines dated 10Oct2018.
In summary, the following are,
Market Concerns , 1) Rising Inflation , believe to be at 6.7% in September mainly due to increase in prices of petroleum and agricultural products ; 2) Volatile stock market, cause by local corporate earning performing below expectation , and , international investor moving funds out and to the higher bond yield in the US ; 3) Weakening of the Peso due to higher imports versus exports .
Bright Spots , 1) Combatting inflation via rising of interest rates to encourage savings and plan to import more rice and agricultural products to address the supply side ; 2) Opportunity lies at current price level in equity ; 3) Central Bank has bigger reserves equals to 7.1 months of PH imports ;
