Which hospitals in Mindanao accept PhilHealth Z Benefits?

Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City covers the most, with 20 Z packages. Davao Doctors Hospital, Davao Regional Medical Center in Tagum, and partner hospitals in General Santos, Cotabato City, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Butuan and Surigao cover the rest.

What is a PhilHealth Z Benefit?
It’s PhilHealth’s bigger package for serious illnesses. It covers the whole treatment plan, not just one hospital stay.

Here’s how much some of them pay:
Breast cancer: up to ₱1.4M
Childhood leukemia: ₱500K
Colon and re**al cancer: ₱150K to ₱400K
Cervical cancer: ₱175K
Prostate cancer: ₱100K
Also covered: heart bypass, heart valve surgery, kidney transplant, home dialysis, and care for premature babies

The catch: a Z Benefit only works at a hospital with a PhilHealth Z contract. Anywhere else, you get the regular coverage, which is much smaller.

Swipe to find which hospitals near you cover each illness.

Before your treatment starts, ask the hospital for its Z Benefits Coordinator and get approved first.

Even with a Z Benefit, some costs are still yours: your income while you recover, medicine at home, transport, and your caregiver’s food.

Nobody in my family ever sat down to do this math.
Until my mom got sick.

No insurance. No plan.

Just bill after bill until the savings ran out and the debt begans to pile up.

I stopped college to work and help with our daily needs.

But looking back…
It wasn’t one bad decision.
It was years of small ones.

“Healthy pa naman.”
“Saka na lang.”
“May HMO naman.”

Every one had a price.
We paid it all at once.

If you’re in your 20s and think your work HMO has you covered, I’m not here to pressure you. I just want you to learn this from a post, not the hard way.

Comment PROTECT and I’ll show you what your HMO actually covers.
