“𝗡𝗔𝗨𝗡𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗞𝗢 𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗧.” 🥺

Before the year ends, I was actually planning to get another insurance plan. I was also planning to upgrade some of my existing benefits, something I thought I could do anytime, once I was ready.

But life made a different turn.

And because of my recent stroke, I can no longer apply for a new insurance plan or upgrade my existing coverage.

Hindi na ako maaccept the way I would have been before, because my health condition has changed my insurability.

Ang hirap lang isipin na habang healthy pa ako, I always thought, “𝗣𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.”

Ngayon, naiintindihan ko na that insurance is something you qualify for while you’re still insurable.

Hindi ko ito shinare para manakot, at lalong hindi para manguilt trip. I’m sharing my personal story because sometimes, we wait for the “right time” to protect ourselves and our families.

Pero ang totoo, we don’t always get to choose when that right time ends.

Kaya kung matagal mo nang iniisip na kumuha ng insurance, magpareview ng existing coverage, or magdagdag ng protection, maybe this is your gentle reminder to at least start the conversation.

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲.

And speaking from personal experience now…

Huwag sana nating hintayin na maging “𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮” ang isang bagay na kaya naman nating simulan today. 🙏🏻

𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫… 𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅.

As a Financial Advisor, sanay ako na ako yung nagsasabi sa clients ko, “𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐩𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨.”

But this time, I found myself on the other side of the story.

Recently, many of you saw my post and asked me if what happened to me. Pinag-isipan ko talagang mabuti if I’m going to share this.

But now, I’m ready to open up and share this with you..

𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐊𝐄. And yes, I AM a stroke survivor.

And honestly, hindi ko rin inexpect na mangyayari ito sa akin.

I’ve always been very conscious about what I eat. I try to take care of my lifestyle, stay active, and be mindful of my health. I thought I was doing enough to protect myself.

But sometimes, life reminds us that no matter how careful we are, we can never completely predict what tomorrow holds.

Last July 25, 2026, I was rushed to the hospital in Iloilo because of dizziness and left sided weakness. My BP was really high at 180/120.

During that moment, I know deep within me that stroke happened to me.

Ang dami kong naiisip that time.

“Pa’no na ang family ko?”
“Pa’no na ang mga pangarap ko?”
“Shall I live with a half-dead body?”

Thank God, He gave me another chance. 🙏🏻
Dahil mabilis akong naitakbo sa hospital, naging maganda ang prognosis and I was able to recover well.

After 4 days of staying in ICU and 2 days on a regular room, Salamat sa Diyos, I was finally then discharged.

What made this experience a little lighter was knowing that I had insurance to help me financially.

My Critical Illness benefit and Hospitalization Allowance claims were approved, giving me a financial safety net while I focus on something more important, my recovery. ❤️

Because of this, hindi na kailangan sabayan ng stress sa medical expenses ang stress ng pagpapagaling.

This experience made me realize even more why I continue to advocate for insurance. This even made me more motivated to continue what I am doing. 🙏🏻

Insurance isn’t about expecting something bad to happen. It’s about preparing for the possibility that life may not go according to plan.

We can’t always control what happens to our health.
But we can prepare for the financial impact.

This time, I’m not just sharing a claim story as an advisor.

I’m sharing it as a claimant. As a patient. As someone who realized firsthand the value of being protected.

Because I never thought my first major claim would be my own. But here I am learning firsthand that no matter how careful we are with our health, there are things in life that we simply cannot predict.

So while you still have the privilege of time, benefit of good health, and power to choose, please do protect yourself, your loved ones and your future. Because 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘’𝐒 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒. ❤️

The deepest kind of love is not just about being there today. It’s about making sure they’ll be okay even when you can’t be there tomorrow. ❤️

Natural lang na isipin natin, “𝘼𝙣𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙖 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮?” But sometimes, we need to ask the deeper question:

“𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙛 𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚?”

Because life insurance is true love that doesn’t just provide for today. It prepares for tomorrow, even when we’re no longer there. 💯

𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐘 𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐁 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 ✨

I didn’t expect this award to mean so much to me this year.

To be honest, I wasn’t able to personally receive it during last night’s awarding because, for health and safety reasons, I needed to prioritize my recovery. And looking back, I believe God was reminding me that before any achievement, He wanted me to choose my health.

As I look at this award today, I don’t just see success. I see God’s faithfulness in every moment I chose not to give up, in every client who trusted me, and in every family who allowed me to be part of securing their future.

I am deeply grateful. Hindi ko man ito natanggap sa stage, pero buong puso ko itong tinatanggap.

This season has taught me that while awards are truly a blessing, they are temporary. Life, health, and the people God entrusts to us will always be far more valuable.

Maraming salamat sa aking clients, teammates, managers, family, at sa lahat ng patuloy na nagdarasal at sumusuporta sa akin. Your trust and encouragement mean more than you know.

And above all, thank You, Lord. Ikaw ang dahilan kung bakit nandito pa rin ako. Thank You for giving me another chance to recover, to rise again, and to continue living out the purpose You have prepared for me.

This is not the end of my story. It’s simply another reminder that God’s plans are always greater than our own.
