On its second day, Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy members Honorable Gloria T. Baysa and Honorable Maria Teresita Zuñiga-Dimaculangan and Ms. Juanita L. Domogen, PRC-CAR Regional Director, with the assistance of PRC-CAR representative Zarah Mae I. Comom, conduct the random physical inspection of the Accountancy refresher course offering of Saint Louis University (SLU) pursuant to its refresher course accreditation.

This activity is pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 9298, also known as the "Philippine Accountancy Act of 2004," Article II, Section 9, par., on the powers and functions of the Board to ensure, in coordination with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) or other authorized government offices, that all higher educational instruction and offering of accountancy comply with the policies, standards and requirements of the course prescribed by CHED or other authorized government offices in the areas of curriculum, faculty, library and facilities.

SLU representatives are Dr. Glory I. De La Peña, Dean, School of Accountancy, Management, Computing, and Information Studies; Mr. Conrado B. Chan, Associate Dean; Dr. Lorie Ann Q. Let us revisit a momentous event that gathered hearts and stories of perseverance, 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐚: 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐚 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐮𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐏𝐀, held last July 12, 2026, at the Audio Visual Room, Saint Louis University - Maryheights Campus where every aspiration found its rightful place in the light.

Pride filled the room as families, mentors, and students gathered to witness a milestone years in the making. The achievement reflected not only skill and knowledge, but the steady discipline and heart it took to reach this point. The testimonies reminded the students that the same road once felt just as uncertain for the new CPAs, yet it is a reassurance that their journey will be worth it in the end.

Five exceptional graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSAc) program were recognized by Punongbayan and Araullo (P&A) Grant Thornton, one of the country's leading audit, tax, advisory, and outsourcing firms, for their outstanding academic performance.

𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐆. 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚, 𝐊𝐡𝐫𝐲𝐬𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐌. 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐟 𝐋. 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨, 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐱𝐳𝐞𝐥 𝐋. 𝐑𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚, and 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐂. 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐨 received the Academic Excellence Award during the 71st Commencement Exercises of the School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS) on July 2, 2026. The recognition reflects years of discipline, perseverance, and dedication.

Completing one of the nation’s most rigorous academic programs required unwavering commitment. The awardees distinguished themselves not only through academic excellence but also through winning national competitions and impactful leadership, embodying Saint Louis University’s 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨 𝐞𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚.

Throughout the intense three-day journey, the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 - 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, alongside the 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 - 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 and dedicated student volunteers, stood firmly behind our examinees by providing free transportation, meals, snacks, and uplifting support to keep spirits high. Despite the immense pressure, our examinees pressed on with strength, carrying not only their personal aspirations but also the proud Louisian standard of excellence.

The final day of the CPALE culminated in a wave of warmth and emotion. With embraces, banners, and words of encouragement, their “𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒃𝒐𝒏𝒈” became a beautiful reminder that behind every future CPA is a community of people who continuously believed, prayed, and supported them throughout the journey.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who became part of this journey, who offered their time, effort, prayers, and encouragement. Your unwavering support and presence became a source of strength, comfort, and motivation for our Louisian CPALE examinees throughout this remarkable journey.

As our aspiring Louisian CPAs move closer to the May 2026 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), the Louisian community gathered in prayer and unity led by Rev. Fr. Kanisius Jenali, CICM, held yesterday, May 23, 2026. More than a simple gathering, the Send-Off Mass became a testament and a moment to pause and reflect on the years of quiet battles and unwavering determination that brought them to this defining chapter of their journey. Surrounded by the prayers and support of the community, they were reminded that they do not walk on this path alone, but with faith in God and the courage to pursue the dream they have long worked for.

Today, as the CPALE officially begins, we continue to lift our future Louisian CPAs in prayer as they take each step closer to the three letters they have long dreamed of earning.

To our future Louisian CPAs, may you carry with you the prayers and pride of the entire Louisian community. Trust in everything you have learned, believe in your purpose, and face the journey ahead with courage and confidence.
