The BIR has expanded the coverage of the Electronic Tax Clearance System (eTCS) under its latest memorandum circular, making more Tax Clearance applications available through the online facility. This provides taxpayers with a more convenient and streamlined way to process their Tax Clearance.

📌 Important: eTCS does not replace the existing eTCBP–eTCVC facility.

📢 Regulatory Update

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) introduces the Verification of Electronic Records and Information Trust and Authentication System (VERITAS)— a blockchain-powered platform that complements the Electronic Submission Authentication Portal (eSAP) to strengthen the SEC's digital authentication framework.

While eSAP confirms that the right person signed the document, VERITAS creates a secure digital record that proves the document is authentic and has not been altered after it was signed.

Together, eSAP and VERITAS make online SEC transactions more secure, convenient, reliable and tamper-resistant.
