Dreams are free. Oh and I'll probably sort my driveway out and concrete the whole thing.

There's no right or wrong answer - it's whatever option works best for you.

If you're ready to take a step in the right direction, that's what I'm here for.

When did you last actually check your KiwiSaver fund?
Not your balance, your fund.
Conservative, balanced, growth, or whatever you got defaulted into the day you signed up and never looked at again.
It takes about ten minutes to find out what you’re actually in and whether it still fits where you’re headed and it's worth doing - today.

Asset rich, cash poor - Sounds like a compliment and a warning rolled into one!
If you've got a house, a KiwiSaver account ticking along, and not a lot of cash sitting around, you're in good company. It's how a lot of people in their 40s end up, especially once the mortgage and the “I'll sort it later” years stack up.
Here's the bit worth sitting with: none of that wealth helps you much if you can't get to it when you need it. Retirement runs on cash flow, not on what your Trade Me estimate says the house is worth.
It's worth thinking about it now, before you need to access it.

Hypothetically speaking, you come into some money.
So what are you doing with it? Paying off the mortgage, or investing it elsewhere?
There's no right answer. It depends on your particular situation, but things to consider are interest rates, timeframes, and which option will help you sleep at night with your decision!
As always, this isn't financial advice; this is just Social Media after all. But if you did want to talk about money, that's what we're here for.

You don’t need a certain amount of money in your account to start taking investing seriously.
If you’ve already got money in an investing app, you’ve started. The next question is whether what you’re doing with it actually fits where you’re headed.
Worth a conversation, even if your portfolio feels small right now.

Investing isn't just for people closing in on their retirement. And it's not just for people with heaps of spare cash lying around either.
Just like anything, we all have to start somewhere. The sooner you get started, the quicker you'll see what can happen.
Investing comes with risks, that's why it's so important to have someone on your team who understands how it works to help you get the best out of what you've got to put in.

Imagine winning the lotto! How nice would that be?
The reality is that's not going to happen for 99.99% of us, but inheritance does turn up for some people, and when it lands in your account, it doesn't come with an instruction manual.
If money turns up, without a plan attached, there's no deadline to have it all figured out. It's not going anywhere just because you haven't decided what to do with it yet. Take a moment, get some advice and make a plan.
