Craft Month at OMS! 🎨👜

For our latest team activity, we swapped spreadsheets and screens for scissors, flowers, fabric and an iron, then created our own personalised tote bags!

There was plenty of creativity, concentration and laughter around the table, and we love how each bag turned out. Every design is a little different, just like the wonderful people who make up our OMS team ❤️

📢 A new Employment Leave Act is coming. What does that mean for employers?

The Employment Leave Act 2026 is set to take effect from 6 August 2028, bringing changes to how employee leave is earned, taken and paid.

It might sound like something you need to start preparing for immediately, but the good news is:

👉 There’s nothing you need to action right now.

For now, the best thing you can do is stay informed and familiarise yourself with the upcoming changes. Official information and updates are available at employment.govt.nz.

As we get closer to 2028, there will be guidance to help employers prepare. Some of the areas that will eventually need attention include:

✓ Payroll systems
✓ Employment agreements
✓ Workplace policies
✓ Pay statements and leave records
