Hi guys, here is a little flow chart to help you figure out your staff entitlements over the silly season.
Also during a business close-down period that includes public holidays, which is often the case over the Christmas and New Year period, employees are entitled to a paid public holiday only if they would ordinarily work on the day of the public holiday. This is also the case in instances of annual leave, as employees are only entitled to public holiday pay if they would normally work on the day of the public holiday, meaning they will not lose a day of annual leave.

Here is the info for the new reporting formats for xero and what needs to be done if you haven't switched over yet, I personally love the old formatting and find it a lot easier to collate information for financial reports ,so it's going to be a bit of a learning curve for all of us.

There’s now about two months to go before old reports in Xero are retired. Here’s what you need to action before 6am NZST on 31 July 2023.

MY STORY

Hello, I’m Rach and I live in Leigh with my Husband and two boys. I love anything to do with the ocean, spending time with my whanau and friends, Gardening, Cooking, Travelling and Adventure.

I have owned and managed multiple successful hospitality businesses over the last 20 years, originally training as a chef and moving on to management and being a company director. After doing my own bookkeeping over the years and helping friends along the way I decided to go back to university to study Bookkeeping and Accounting. So here I am a qualified Bookkeeper, Xero advisor and a member of the New Zealand Bookkeepers Association.

I am here to help you set up your business with xero, do payroll, GST, reports, invoicing, quotes, manage sales and purchases and reconciliation of your bank accounts, any bookkeeping duties you need to keep you on top of your game, your accountant happy and your taxes sorted.

For onsite work, a travel cost will apply if more than 20 kms away, although most work will be able to be done remotely.

For new clients we can set up a free 1 x hour consultation to discuss your current bookkeeping system, what your needs are and how I can help you. From there I can tailor you a plan that will work for your needs and your budget.
