One of the big attractions of Fox Office is that it’s personal.

Along the way I’ve added Jess in a part time role for accounting help and Heather as part-time admin support recently. But ultimately you work with me, I still do your tax and there no passing around a big team.

Does someone owe your business and it's no longer reasonably recoverable? Not just unlikely but you have given up on any likelihood of recovery?

Then get this written off by 31 March 2026.

Not sure how? Get in touch with your accountant ASAP.

The rules are clear, you must do it before year end or it'll fall into the next year (meaning you pay tax on that income you'll never get this year)!

On 1 April 2026, several KiwiSaver changes will come into effect.

➡️ The minimum KiwiSaver contribution rate will rise to 3.5% (from 3%) for KiwiSaver members and their employers.
➡️ People aged 16 or 17 will qualify for employer KiwiSaver contributions, so long as they meet other eligibility requirements.
➡️ Members can choose to apply for a temporary KiwiSaver rate reduction or a savings suspension in myIR if they cannot afford the rate increase or would like to save in other ways. The rate reduction would take effect from the first pay on or after 1 April.

None of it sounds like good news ACC… BUT if you pay on time there will be minimal effect on you. In saying that many clients appreciate the 6 month payment plan with no interest to help them spread out the cost. Time to start squirrelling some money aside if that’s you!
