If you invoice a client late, set the due date for 24 December, and then chase them repeatedly before that due date…

PLEASE STOP

That isn’t good cash flow management. It’s a fast way to damage client relationships.

👉 Your urgency does not become your client’s emergency.

If you need to be paid before Christmas, that’s completely reasonable. But it’s your responsibility to:

✔️ Invoice early
✔️ Set clear payment terms
✔️ Communicate expectations upfront
✔️ Manage cash flow proactively

Not to invoice at the eleventh hour and then apply pressure before the agreed due date.

This time of year is demanding for everyone. Your clients are managing deadlines, teams, holidays and shutdowns — just like you are.

Chasing payment before it’s due doesn’t make you look organised or professional.

It signals poor planning and creates unnecessary friction.

Strong businesses don’t rely on last-minute follow-ups. They put systems in place so cash flow is handled well ahead of time.
