At BFA, many of our clients are at the heart of the rural sector - farmers, growers, and business owners who play a vital role in keeping our region thriving. Thatâs why organisations like Waikato Rural Support resonate so strongly with us. Their commitment to supporting the wellbeing of rural communities aligns closely with what we see every day: the pressures, challenges, and resilience that come with life in the primary sector.
With teams across 14 regions, Rural Support Trust can come directly to you at your home, farm, or wherever you feel most comfortable.
And if you need extra support, they can connect you with the right professionals to help get things back on track.

Proof that not all accounting happens behind a desk đ
BFA Associate Client Advisor Joe was out on site with the team at Te Waa Logging last week, rolling up his sleeves and marking logs alongside the crew.
Getting out in the field gives us a real understanding of the challenges and opportunities our forestry clients face every day, helping us deliver advice thatâs practical, informed, and tailored to their business.

In todayâs environment, thatâs a risky place to be. Cash reserves arenât just ânice to haveâ, theyâre what keep your business steady when costs rise, income dips, or the unexpected hits.
A good rule of thumb? Aim for 3â6 months of expenses set aside. It gives you breathing room without needing to take on high-interest emergency debt.
If building that feels out of reach right now, start small:
⢠Tighten up how quickly youâre getting paid
⢠Set aside a small % of revenue regularly
⢠Review and cut unnecessary costs
⢠Keep tax funds separate
If your reserves arenât where youâd like them to be, we can help you put a plan in place. Reach out to your Client Advisor who will be more than happy to help.

We are excited to announce, we're on the move!
Twenty-five years ago, we marked the opening of our current building in TĹŤwharetoa Street - that was a night to remember - and what a journey it's been since. We have gone from sharing our space with others to leasing additional offices nearby, with the business and the team going from strength to strength.
We have had our team spread across two separate offices for some time now, but that's all about to change. We're bringing everyone together under one roof in a brand-new location, complete with a fresh fit-out designed with you, our clients, front of mind.
Our new address will be 81 Horomatangi Street, TaupĹ, and all going to plan, we're aiming to be settled into our new home by the end of August / early September. We'll keep you updated on our progress along the way, so watch this space!

We love it when friends of the BFA whÄnau call in for a visit. đ
Today brought a wonderful blast from the past when Kathie Rupapera stopped by to catch up with some familiar faces. Kathie worked alongside Garth, Tom, Karen and Julz more than 25 years ago, back in the early days of BFA.
Now calling Christchurch home, Kathie was in town and made time to reconnect with the original crew. There were plenty of stories, laughs, and memories shared over a morning catch-up.
Itâs moments like these that remind us that while a lot has changed over the years, the relationships built along the way remain just as important. đ

BFA was pleased to sponsor the 3rd Place Womenâs Heaviest Boar prize at this yearâs Reporoa Hunting Competition which took place over Kingâs Birthday Weekend.
A big congratulations to Michele Stow, who took out 3rd place with an impressive 143lb boar!
Weâve been proud supporters of this great local event for the past few years, and it was extra special to have our very own Ella-Rose competing this year too.
Well done to everyone involved in another successful community event.
