Our Insolvency & Restructuring team recently attended the 2026 RITANZ Conference, connecting with peers from across New Zealand.
Thanks to Andrew Oorschot, Laura Devine-Giles, and Krishna Patel for representing Ashton Wheelans and bringing back valuable insights that continue to enhance the way we support businesses, stakeholders, and communities through insolvency, restructuring, and stakeholder management.
A great reminder of the importance of combining technical expertise with clear communication and practical judgement to support clients through challenging times.

Our annual Pink Ribbon Breakfasts were recently held across all our offices, bringing our teams together in proud support of the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.
This is an initiative we are always proud to be part of, helping raise awareness while supporting the vital work being done in education, research, and care for those affected by breast cancer.
Thanks to the generosity of our team and communities, we raised just over $700. Every contribution helps make a meaningful difference for individuals and families across New Zealand. 💗🎀

What a fantastic Women in Business event on Friday.
We had the privilege of hosting three brilliant speakers — Melissa Smith from Melissa Smith Total Wellbeing, Becky Dennison from Hyde Boutique and Linda Direen from Beauty on Eden — who had everyone completely drawn in with their stories, experiences and practical advice.
Casa Nova House was an incredible venue and the lunch was outstanding. It really set the scene for a relaxed and genuine afternoon of connection.
We are proud to bring together such strong and inspiring women in business, and we’re grateful to everyone who made the day so special.
Already looking forward to the next one. Stay tuned📣⭐

Meet Rhys, one of the friendly faces behind the numbers. With nearly five years in the profession, Rhys' love of accounting started early and naturally carried through to uni and into practice. Don’t let the spreadsheets fool you though, Rhys is big on people, real conversations, and helping clients stay confident and in control of their tax. When not answering curly Xero questions or keeping clients ahead of IRD deadlines, you’ll find him staying active outdoors or debating rugby loyalties that definitely didn’t start in the South Island.
Check out the key questions we asked Rhys below.⭐️⛷️🏉🔵
