Planning for the future does not mean succession on day one and retirement on day two. Succession evolves over time, often over many years, as family circumstances, business goals and individual aspirations change.

Change to the way we invoice our services.
Going forward, we will issue separate invoices for different types of work, rather than combining all work completed during the month onto a single invoice. This applies to services such as:
• Annual accounting work
• Business advisory
• Tax forecasts
• Dividend preparation
• Other ad hoc work, including client training and queries
Our bookkeeping services (payroll, GST preparation, RWT filing, and monthly bill payments) will continue to be consolidated on to a single monthly invoice.
Invoice timing is unchanged – invoices are issued during the first week of each month and remain due for payment on the 20th.
Prior to the due date, you’ll receive an Activity Statement summarising the total amount due for that month. The statement also includes links to each invoice, making it easy to access a copy if required. If any invoices remain unpaid after the due date, you’ll receive an Overdue Statement showing your outstanding balance as a reminder.
If you have any questions about these changes or your invoices in general, please don’t hesitate to contact Kate Ward-Smith or Nicola French in our office.

As the financial year draws to a close, now is often the time to revisit that to-do list and those jobs you’ve been putting off all year start getting another look. Whether it’s a tractor that has become increasingly temperamental, a set of yards that have seen better days, or a project that’s...

Behind the figures
“Can’t you just make it work?” are familiar words my colleagues across NZ will be all too used to hearing. As rural accountants, we understand that the numbers aren’t the reason you get out of bed each day, and when you dreamt about farming growing up, we doubt you pictured yourself sitting ...

Road Works – Wairakei Road (4th May – end July 2026 weather permitting)
We have received notification that there will be road works outside our building on Wairakei Road starting on Monday 4th May 2026 and lasting to approximately the end of July, depending on weather which may impact you getting to our office. Please note the following:
- Wairakei Road will operate under a one-way system westbound for the duration of the project between Breens Road and Roydvale/Woolridge Road roundabout (ie. heading towards the airport) so you may need to change the way you approach our building. They will be working on the whole area at the same time, rather than sections.
- Hours of construction work are from 7am to 5pm so you need to be careful going in and out of the building during this time.
- We will still have client carparks for your use but have been advised by the Council that there will be a period when they need to excavate across driveways and entrances as part of the new watermain and submain installation. At this time access to our carpark may be temporarily restricted. In these instances we will work with you regarding appointment times to work in with this, or alternatively Directors can organise an alternate meeting venue more suitable if necessary.
- We will also remind clients of the roadworks when you ring for an appointment so you can allow a different route if necessary.
Please contact us with any specific queries you have, but otherwise, please ensure you take care entering and exiting our building.
Many thanks.
