🕊️So sad to hear of the passing of Sir Tim Shadbolt. ⏱️ A man of many stories - November 2016, a cafe in Invercargill. Breakfast time straight off the plane. 2 hours away from the launch event for 'The Good Loans', an initiative with Bank of New Zealand (BNZ), Good Stepherd NZ & MSD. A loan programme delivered through The Salvation Army.

🤦🏼‍♀️ My heart sunk as I spotted the Mayor of Invercargill. The faux pas was that he had been left off the guest list.
Every mite of boldness in me was called on.
I walked up to Sir Tim and shared how I grew up in West Auckland knowing of the legend he was, the Mayor of Waitakere City with his concrete mixer in tow.
Boldly I asked if he could honour us attending the launch.

😄 Well blow me down, he flippen did!!! Even the key note speaker.
Here is the moment he said 'Yes'!!
Joined by Sir Tim's breakfast guest, film director of the revamped 2016 'Goodbye Pork Pie' film. Matt Murphy, son of Geoff Murphy who directed the original 1981 classic 🎬

Rest in Peace Sir Tim.
You gave so much to your communities with such rigorous passion. You will always be remembered ♥️
