This year, we had our buka puasa gathering much earlier, as Ramadan is about to begin at the end of this month. It was a smooth, warm, and harmonious gathering with the team.

OPR remains at 3%. The OPR- Fed fund rate differential is 2.25%. The main if not sole reason for RM depreciating over the past years.

What would happen if BNM up the OPR by 2.25% ?

RM would be strong against major currencies and inflation would be well kept low..

BNM don't match it's US counterpart in rate hikes, the reason could be the worries of local economy couldn't take up higher finance cost and lot of businesses would fold up if they did so.

The decision of BNM kind of giving us a strong sense that domestic macro economy landscape in the near future remain the same i.e on the growth path from the pandemic, but very slow rate....
