📢 Public Holiday Arrangement for Wesak Day & Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Birthday 2026

KESUMA has clarified the public holiday arrangement for Wesak Day and the Birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 2026.

🪷 Wesak Day: Sunday, 31 May 2026
🇲🇾 King’s Birthday: Monday, 1 June 2026

If:
✔ Wesak Day is recognised by the employer as a paid public holiday; and
✔ Sunday is the employee’s rest day,

then eligible employees may also be entitled to a replacement holiday on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

This means some employees could receive:
📅 Monday, 1 June 2026 – King’s Birthday public holiday
📅 Tuesday, 2 June 2026 – Replacement holiday for Wesak Day

Employers and employees are encouraged to review their company’s public holiday arrangements and Employment Act requirements accordingly.
