📢 SSM Recovery Campaign 2026 is here!

The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has launched a Recovery Campaign from 16 April to 30 September 2026 to help companies get back on track with compliance.

👥 Who is this for?

This campaign is designed for:
• Companies with outstanding Annual Returns
• Companies with incomplete Beneficial Ownership (BO) information
• Companies that have not lodged Financial Statements
• Inactive companies that wish to apply for striking off
• Companies facing difficulties in meeting compliance requirements under the Companies Act 2016

✅ What you need to do:

Participating companies must provide an undertaking to:
• Update outstanding Annual Returns
• Update Beneficial Ownership (BO) information
• Submit outstanding Financial Statements
• OR apply for Striking Off (for inactive companies)

⏳ Timeline given:
• 3 months – Annual Returns & BO information
• 6 months – Financial Statements
• 3 months – Striking Off application

SSM SERTAI OPERASI BERSEPADU PINTAS MEGA BIL. 1/2026 DI BALIK PULAU

Balik Pulau, 12 Februari 2026 – Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) Negeri Pulau Pinang telah menyertai Operasi Bersepadu Pintas Mega Bil. 1/2026 di sekitar Balik Pulau pada 28 Januari 2026.

Operasi ini dilaksanakan bagi memperkukuh penguatkuasaan dan memastikan pematuhan terhadap undang-undang kawal selia di bawah seliaan agensi penguatkuasaan terlibat.

Hasil pemeriksaan ke atas enam premis perniagaan melibatkan entiti perniagaan, syarikat dan perkongsian liabiliti terhad mendapati terdapat ketidakpatuhan terhadap peruntukan di bawah Akta Pendaftaran Perniagaan 1956 serta Kaedah-kaedah Pendaftaran Perniagaan 1957. Sehubungan itu, sebanyak lima notis kompaun telah dikeluarkan oleh SSM.

Turut serta dalam operasi ialah Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah, Polis Diraja Malaysia Daerah Barat Daya dan Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang.

BENEFICIAL OWNERSHIP EDUCATIONAL SERIES

Series 1- Who Qualifies As a Beneficial Owner (BO)?

A beneficial owner (BO) is a natural person who ultimately owns or controls or exercises significant influence over a company.

Hi Sirs/Madams/Followers,

2025 Personal Tax Relief has been finalised by LHDN and we would like to update a few newly implemented reliefs and measures:

1. Interest on Housing Loans for First Time Owners (applicable to properties purchased from 1/1/2025 to 31/12/2027)
- RM 7,000.00 for housing price not more than RM500k
- RM 5,000.00 for housing price above RM500k - RM750k

2. Expenses related to EV (RM2,500.00)
- Relief extended to year 2027
- EV Owners are able to enjoy this relief at their charging facilities including installation, rental, EV related equipments or Subscription Fees.

3. Education/Medical Insurance (RM4,000.00)
- Previously combined relief only RM3,000 and now it increased.

4. Dividend Income
- Individuals that receiving annual dividend income exceeding RM100,000, are subjected to 2% on the excess amount.

5. Food Waste Composting Machine
- Purchase/Expenses of a food waste composting machines for household use are eligiblee for relief but it is claimable once every three years!

Dear friends and followers,

The Registrar (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia - SSM) has fined companies up to RM40,000 for the failure of the submission of financial statements under Section 245, 248, 258 and 340 of the Companies Act 2016.

This has given a significant financial pressure to the business owners which are already facing existing challenges including rising of operational costs and economic uncertainty.


For your information:

✅Section 258 - Circulation of financial statements and reports within 6 months of the financial year end of the company.

⚠️Max compound up to RM50,000.00⚠️

✅ Section 245 - Companies are mandatory to keep proper accounting records that explains their financial positions. Accounts are in compliance - prepared and audited. It must be kept for 7 years and be accessible for the Directors for inspection at all times.

✅ Section 248 - First financial year end are set within 18 months after the incorporation date. It is the Directors’ duty to prepare and present the financial statements according to the approved accounting standards.

✅ Section 340 - Every public companies are mandatory to hold an Annual General Meeting every calendar year. AGM must hold within 6 months from its financial year end and not later than 15 months from the last AGM.

Reconsider high fines, Malay Chamber of Commerce tells Companies Commission | New Straits Times KUALA LUMPUR: The Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (DPMM) has urged the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) to reconsider the high compound fines imposed on companies found to be in breach of provisions under the Companies Act 2016.
