For parents of a child with special needs, financial planning is about much more than money.

You learned by watching. 👀

Maybe you grew up in a home where…

This is one of the most common misconceptions we hear about Will planning.

Many people associate writing a Will with old age, serious illness, or having a lot of wealth.

But a Will is really about 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁.

Here are 5 common misconceptions worth clearing up:

❌ 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 𝟭: “A Will is only for wealthy people.”
✅ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: You don’t need to be wealthy to have wishes about how your assets should be handled. Bank accounts, investments, property and other assets can all form part of your estate.

❌ 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 𝟮: “I’m young and healthy, so I can do it later.”
✅ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Estate planning isn’t about predicting when something will happen. It’s about 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 while you are able to make your wishes clear.

❌ 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 𝟯: “My family knows what I want.”
✅ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Knowing your wishes and having them 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 are two very different things. Clear planning can reduce uncertainty and potential disagreements among family members.

💰 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗥𝗠𝟬

We spend so much of our lives thinking about money.

“How much should I save?”
“Do I have enough for retirement?”
“How much should I invest?”
“Can I afford a better lifestyle?”

But some of the 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 have a surprising price tag:

𝗥𝗠𝟬.

☕ Having an unhurried conversation with your parents.

🚶 Taking an evening walk with your spouse.

We are incredibly honoured that our very own 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗲𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿, represented Coreplus Advisory as one of the speakers at the 𝟲𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in Malaysia. 🇲🇾

This year’s meaningful theme was “𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆.”

During the session, “𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀,” we shared a philosophy we hold deeply at Coreplus:
