During a townhall session attended by Tola Adeyemi, CEO of KPMG One Africa, Désiré shared his vision for the next phase of KPMG Mauritius’ growth journey.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to recognise John Chung’s leadership during his ten years as Country Managing Partner.

KPMG in Mauritius, in collaboration with Board of Good (BoG), recently hosted an engaging panel discussion on the theme: “What it means to lead as a woman.”

The event brought together professionals and leaders from across industries for an open and thought-provoking conversation on leadership, inclusion, resilience, confidence, and the evolving expectations placed on women in leadership roles today.

The panel featured insightful contributions from:
• Dr Elena Nikolova – Economic, Social and Gender Consultant
• Huns Biltoo – Head of Advisory, KPMG Mauritius
• Oumila Sibartie – Director, HV Holdings Ltd

The discussion was moderated by Jennifer Koon Kam King, Head of HR at KPMG Mauritius.

In his opening remarks, John Chung, Country Managing Partner of KPMG Mauritius, highlighted that women represent 65% of the KPMG Mauritius workforce and reflected on the progress made in advancing women into senior leadership positions within the Firm.

A special thank you to Joelene Pierce, CEO of KPMG Southern Africa, whose video message reinforced the importance of creating environments where women can thrive and progress into leadership and decision-making roles.

At KPMG, we believe that inclusive leadership and diverse perspectives strengthen organisations, drive innovation, and create more sustainable outcomes for our people, clients, and communities.

KPMG in Mauritius conducted a workshop earlier today on FATCA and CRS, hosted by Mauritius Finance.

The session brought together professionals from the financial services industry to explore practical challenges and recent developments related to FATCA and CRS.

The workshop was led by Kevin Mees, Tax Associate Director, and Aashna Ramsaib, Tax Senior Manager. They have extensive hands-on experience supporting financial institutions on FATCA and CRS matters, ranging from due diligence, drafting policy manuals, training, reporting, among others.

We were also honoured to be present at the certificate presentation ceremony and to receive an award in recognition of our participation and contribution to the programme.
