As we move into the second half of the year, we're reminded that success is not only measured by milestones and achievements, but also by the way we support one another along the journey.

Our summer party was a reminder that moments like these matter. They strengthen the connections behind successful teams, creating opportunities to listen, learn more about one another and build the trust that helps us work together every day. 🌅

Beyond the role, he approaches life with a simple mindset: do the things that your future self will thank you for. Sometimes that means travelling. Sometimes it means taking on a challenge. Sometimes it means sticking to his disciplines.

Along the way, he has come to value something else just as much: people. Many of the colleagues he works with have become genuine friends, and it's something he never takes for granted.

One belief that continues to guide him:

"The obstacle is the way. Make a habit of embracing challenges and moving towards fear; beautiful things await you on the other side. Just don't take any of it too seriously."

Risk assessments should do more than satisfy a regulatory requirement. They should help organisations understand their exposure and make informed decisions.

Business Risk Assessments, Customer Risk Assessments, Jurisdiction Risk Assessments, governance arrangements and ongoing oversight should work together. When they do, the risk-based approach becomes a strategic tool rather than a documentation exercise.

Effective AML/CFT frameworks are not built on documents alone. They are built on how risk assessments, governance and decision-making come together in practice.

By Legal Notice 173 of 2026, Malta has implemented the Pay Transparency Directive through the ‘Equal Pay (Transparency and Reporting) Regulations 2026’, effective 5 June 2026.

These regulations are already in force, making obligations such as job categorisation for equal value, employees’ access to pay information, and transparent pay criteria mandatory for all employers.

They introduce strict timelines for pay gap reporting and information requests, broaden transparency requirements, and strengthen enforcement, with implications for litigation. Notably, provisions on existing collective agreements and the single-source argument are of interest.

This quote framed our latest Quarterly Townhall Meeting and reflected the focus of the morning: continuous learning, knowledge sharing across the network, community impact, and recognising the people behind our progress.

Throughout the session, colleagues across the firm shared insights and experiences, highlighting how individual contribution shapes our direction as a team.

We were also pleased to welcome Fabio Spiteri, who joined us just days after completing the Double Deca. He shared reflections on his training journey, his perspective on motivation and discipline, and how he has used his platform to support causes through fundraising. 🏃

What stood out was not only the scale of the achievement, but the discipline behind it, and the reality that no milestone is reached alone, but through the contribution of many, a reminder that individual effort can extend well beyond personal goals and create meaningful impact for others. 🤝
