Held on 6 August 2026, the inaugural oration brought together 180 participants, including senior public sector officials, Chartered Accountants, academics, students and professionals, reflecting the deep respect and appreciation for Mr. Kanagasabapathy’s enduring contribution to Sri Lanka’s public finance profession.

The 2nd Batch of the Master of Public Financial Management (MPFM) Degree Programme was ceremonially inaugurated on 24 July 2026 at CA Sri Lanka, marking another important milestone in developing future leaders in public financial management.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Indika Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, together with Mr. Tishan Subasinghe, President of CA Sri Lanka; Ms. K. V. C. Dilrukshi, President of APFASL; and Ms. Lakmali Priyangika, CEO of CA Sri Lanka. The occasion was also attended by members of the Board of Study, the distinguished lecture panel, and the newly enrolled MPFM students.

More importantly, the gathering reaffirmed that the MPFM journey does not end with the completion of examinations. Both the students and APFASL pledged to continue this strong partnership, working together to advance 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐅𝐌) 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐚 and to establish the 𝐌𝐏𝐅𝐌 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, creating a vibrant professional community for the present and future graduates of the programme.

This gathering reflects the vision of APFASL to build not only academic excellence but also a lifelong network of public finance professionals committed to strengthening governance, accountability, and sustainable public financial management in Sri Lanka.
