Frist of insurance is a contract between two parties, (Insurer & insured ) as per "Indian contract act 1872"

There are are seven fundamental principle in the field of insurance -
1.principle of utmost good faith/Uberima fides
2.Principle of insurable interest
3.principle of indemnity
4.Principle of subrogation
5.Principle of contribution
6.Principle of Mitigation of losses
7.Principle of cause of Proxima

📌principle of utmost good faith /uderima fides:📌
Insurer and insured must disclose all material fact openly, clearly & Truthfully
📌Principle of insurable interest :
Insurable interest means Financial interest. Insured must have insurable interest in subject matter of insurance
📌Principle of indemnity 📌
Insurer agrees to pay to insured Actuall loss suffered. The amount of Compensation limited to Amount assured or loss whicheveries loss.
📌Principle of Subrogation 📌
After the insured is compensated for loss due to damage of poperty insured, the right of ownership of such poperty, passes to the insurer.

📌Principle of contribution:📌
Under this principle, the insured can claim the compentation only to extent of actual loss either from one insurer or all the insurers.

📌Principale of Mitigation of losses 📌
Insured must always try to minimize the loss of the property, in case of uncertain events.

📌Principle of Cause proxima:📌
Principle of cause proxima means, when a loss is caused by more than one cause, then the proximate cause of a loss should be taken into consideration to decide the liability of insurer
