In a landmark decision, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has clarified that issuance of Form 15CB is a statutory duty and does not amount to abetment of money laundering under PMLA.

This judgment reinforces that: ✔️ Chartered Accountants are not required to verify the genuineness of client-provided documents
✔️ Performing professional duties under tax laws cannot attract criminal liability
✔️ CAs cannot be prosecuted merely for discharging their statutory responsibilities

This ruling brings much-needed clarity and protection to the CA fraternity, strengthening confidence in professional practice.
