π’ BCAS in the News!
As the ITR filing season progresses, many early filers may find themselves needing to revise their returns due to updated information appearing in the Annual Information Statement (AIS), Form 26AS, or other tax records after the initial filing. Ensuring that all financial information is accurately reflected before filing can help avoid unnecessary revisions and compliance issues.
In a recent Mint article, CA Mrinal Mehta, Joint Secretary of The Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society (BCAS), highlighted the importance of reconciling income, tax credits, and financial transactions with the AIS and other available records before filing returns. He emphasized that taxpayers should carefully review updated information to minimize the need for revisions at a later stage.
With tax reporting becoming increasingly data-driven, accuracy and proper reconciliation remain key to a smooth filing experience and effective tax compliance.
