UNION BUDGET 2023

1. No tax for income up to 7 lakh per annum under the new tax regime. Tax slabs have been revised and the non-taxable slab is now ₹3 lakh.

2. Ci******es get costlier by 16 per cent.

3. To improve regional aviation connectivity, 50 more airports, helipads, water aerodromes, and advanced landing grounds will be built.

4. The funding will also be used to advertise and promote the "One District, One Product Scheme," which aims to boost sales of GI goods and regionally distinctive handicrafts from every state.

5. The approximate cost of this scheme extension is 2 lakh crore or 2 trillion rupees, to be borne entirely by the Indian Government. Over 80 crore impoverished individuals are reported to benefit from this programme. Each qualified person will get 5 kg of free food grains.

6. Private jets, helicopters, gold and diamond jewellery get costlier.

7. Indian Railways set to achieve net 0 carbon emissions and implement green hydrogen and to take measures to achieve the goal.

8. 50 new tourist places to be revived into a whole package to boost tourism.

9. The budget for this year reflects a slower rate of inflation in food costs. The inflation rate for the fiscal year 2022 was 3.5%.
