New Tax rate structure revised,
0-3 lac - Nil
3-7 Lac - 5%
7-10 Lacs - 10%
10-12 Lacs - 15%
12-15 Lacs - 20%
15 Lacs or more - 30%
Standard deduction increased from 50,000 to 75,000.
Standard deduction for family pensioners increased from 15,000 to 25,000.
Tax deduction on NPS contributions to be raised from 10% of salary to 14% for both pvt. & govt. employees.
Unlisted bonds and debentures, debt mutual funds and market-linked debentures, to be taxed on capital gains irrespective of holding period as per tax slab rates.
Short-term gains on Equity Instruments will attract 20%
Long term Capital Gains on Equity Instruments will now attract 12.5% with exemption up to 1.25Lacs
