Buying a brand new car 🚘 in my opinion is a stupid financial decision especially if you have begun your career and have no respectable savings. That’s why, the 2nd hand car market has skyrocketed in India in the past few years. But there are a couple of things you need to remember before you buy a 2nd hand car. 🔹For the buyer: Make sure to transfer the insurance to your name within 14 days. The 3rd party insurance is automatically transferred and valid for 14 days. But own damage insurance isn’t. If you meet with an accident insurance company will not pay you jackshit. 🔹For the seller: The onus is on you to transfer the insurance. Otherwise if the new driver causes an accident, the insurance tribunal might order you to pay. Also, you will miss out on the NCB benefit if you don’t transfer.
