To reduce compliance pressure and portal congestion, Budget 2026 has introduced key changes to ITR timelines:

🗓️ Revised / Belated Returns
✔️ Filing deadline extended to 31 March of the relevant AY

⏳ Staggered ITR Filing Deadlines
🔹 ITR-1 & ITR-2 (Salaried / Pensioners): 31 July (No change)
🔹 ITR-3, ITR-4, ITR-5 & ITR-7 (Non-audit business & Trust): 31 August
🔹 Audit cases: 31 October

✔️ Extended correction window
✔️ Reduced peak-season rush
✔️ Implemented under the Income Tax Act, 2025

📌 Objective: Less last-minute rush, smoother compliance.
